I decided to make another card for the Mix-ability Challenge this week - What's White & Read All Over. I am still "learning" about mixed media and have had fun today playing with Gesso & acrylic paint.
My bg is actually red dp - I put a coat of white Gesso over the dp & it covered most of the red! So then I got a sponge dauber and applied 2 shades of pearlescent red chalk. The frame behind my text I brushed with Bordeaux acrylic paint, when dry applied a coat of Decor Crackle - love the sheen I got from this! My text paper is dp I had here in my stash, I lightly went over this with Poppy Red re-inker & water. Added the blue butterfly & sweater trim for texture and dimension.
Thank you so much for looking!

Sue, you're definitely getting the hang of this stuff....isn't it fun to play with paints and gesso? I like the shine you got on that red panel. Great composition here and the little sweater trim adds just the right little something.

Polly is right! You HAVE got it. That butterfly is amazing against your painted paper background. I love playing with acrylics on my cards. It makes anything pop off the page.
