I've been working on a card to use as my shoebox card at the upcoming Spring Fest in Buffalo at the end of the month. This is 4X4 and I wanted to use a ribbon, but still wanted to have the card open up all the way. I finally figured it out......by adding a 4 1/4 inch backing to the card. I used a 4X12 inch strip of paper, scored at 4 and 8 inches. Then using the diagonal score pad score down from the top left to the four inch scoring. Flipped the card 180 degrees and did the same thing again. Foded the bottom left and top right triangles back and burnished all edges. Took a 3 3/4 inch square of patterned paper and cut it in half diagonally and applied to the triangles showing. Added a sentiment panel and a ribbon, then mounted all on a 4 1/4 inch square of cardstock. This uses my new favourite tool....the Simply Scored diagonal scoring pad. I also used it to make a matching 4 1/2 by 4 1/2 inch envelope, as I did not have any square envelopes.
