This week's Technique Lovers' Challenge was for a technique I've never done before. I'm so glad I tried it as I will use it a lot - it's perfect for creating a background for a collage stamp.
This was my first attempt and I was pleased with how the background turned out but when I stamped my image, the upper centre part didn't stamp well (I don't think Memento ink works that well on heavy watercolour paper, so in my second attempt I switched to Versafine ink and it came out much better). I was going to toss this image, but decided to turn it into a card anyway - covered up the missing part of the image with my sentiment tag and layered it on black cs and a dp that happened to match perfectly. It's okay but I prefer my second attempt which is much more of a CAS card. Which do you like best?

This is a wonderful card Susan....I'll have to look at the other one to see which I prefer. The tag was a great idea to c0over the faint stamping....I never thought of that before. I love the colors and collage image as well as the distress technique. I hope to try it this week.

I KNOW what you mean about part not stamping well. I have a hard time finding a really flat surface on my table. You "made do" very well. I love your card.

I totally love the colors of this, and I think of the unstamped spots as places to tie lace or what not so that is cool your tag was big enough. gonna go look at the other then let you know.
