~Fishin' with Chip~
Added to Favorite

Photo Details
Poster: patsmethers

 This set is filled with heart, because it is a case of one of the sweetest stampers ever, my Texan Sistah Joanie. I am thrilled to see Joan as the QFTD, and to gander thru her gallery once again filled me with memories of my early SCS days, and the many after-midnight chats we used to enjoy. (I can't stay up past 8:30 now!) Lol. Joan, your crafting has influenced me since I began, and still I am in awe of your beautiful work, and your beautiful heart. I hope your reign as Queen this week is a blessing to you! {{{Hugs}}}

I chose Gone Fishing, because I loved this project, and it features fish! This tin box set is going to Chip, you can read about him in MMTPT167. Chip is in need of encouragement and is a fisherman, so this set from Joan's gallery seemed perfect. I kept the same image Joanie used, and added a black & white striped DP on the inside to represent Chip's "referee" side.

The Scripture on the tags are from three different sets at ODBD, and were stamped in white on blackboard paper tags, and tied with hemp. I added a metal fishing spinner to hold them together. The challenge on the Twisted Sister Bus this week was to use metal- so I have that covered in the tin boxes, brads and spinner.

The small round box is a candy tin from Michael's. I removed the plastic top and stamped SU's Cheesecloth in black Stazon, and added olive colored Bazzill to the outside. The fish were watercolored, and have a coat of Crystal Effects.

Joanie, have a wonderful week, you sweet lil Stamper! LYMI!

Thanks for looking.

What an awesome inspiration from Joan this was - love where you have gone with this - Love how you did the top of the Fisherman's tin in all its woodsy glory and the gift within of Scripture verses is just too awesome - I am sure these will give Chip some special moments ! This is over the top with that sweet little altered tin and the fish added on the top - I am in awe - you are such a gifted crafter!! HUGS!

Your people's heart is just on fire today, Pat. You are such a blessing to so many and I think this will be a fave for Chip as well as an honor to sweet Joan. I never cease to be amazed at the things you have about that are just "perfect" like the metal fishing spinner holding the tags together (I have no idea what that is, but I'm sure Chip will And I love seeing those Ms "ferns"--you use them in so many wonderful ways both masculine and feminine. Love your wonderfully funny, punny title. HUGS~
