We used the sharp pointed thing from the Craft Tool Kit and the mat with holes in it to poke holes through the black strip of paper on the card. Then we took a white gel pen and connected the dots to make it have the look of having been sewn on.

I made on like this at stamp camp last saturday. I like the sewn look we didn't do that we just used brown ribbon. Until I read your comments It looked really sewn in to me.
I love the look of this card now I wish I had gotten that set.
