Hero Arts is celebrating Summertime with their challenge theme this month, and to me summer means flowers. I picked up this fun Flower Text image for 50% off at Michael's & wanted to get it inky.
I stamped it in India ink on white cardstock & clear embossed. I saw the Lime, Pink & White Challenge at Little Red Wagon & decided to make that my color palette ... or in this case Worn Lipstick, Shabby Shutters and Spun Sugar Distress ink.
I used a spong and randomly added ink to the flowers and leaves. When I waws happy with that effect, I went direct to paper with Spun Sugar ink to fill in the remaining space. Next, I used a white colored pencil to add highlights to the flowers and leaves.
There was a bit of an embossing powder boo-boo at the top, so I solved it with some punched butterflies decorated with white pearls ... I love how they pop against the background.
