Hi! Today's card is a fit for today's Free 4 All Challenge: On Edge. Participants were to add in interesting edge to their focal images or to the edge of their cards. I added the sentiment to an oval at the edge of the focal image. Thats' a bit interesting, don't you think? I also added gel pen dots to the borders. Oh, and the Bottom edge of the focal panel has seaweed and more "texture" than the top "edge" of the focal panel. This card also fits this week's Stampin' B's Challenge to use bling on a card. (I used half pearls in the corners.)
This set is based upon my love for fish. When I was in a wheelchair, (about 10 years ago-I broke my neck and back), our family had Season Passes to Sea World. We loved going there to see the animal shows and the kids loved to ride the roller coasters. Back then, there were only 8 rides at that park, and the kids STILL loved it there! They would "park" me in the waiting area at the end of the Atlantis ride where there were awesome aquariums full of beautiful fish. And, the floor was an aquarium full of amazing creatures. I would sit there for hours, waiting for them, and I was never bored.
For Mother's Day that year, the boys bought an ENORMOUS fish tank for our living room. It was bigger than our couch! The tank was full of colorful fish. Girl Cat, our 25+lb cat. decided that the LID of the tank was her resting place.
Many times, we would hear a CRASH in the living room and a screaching wet cat would dash under my bed. The tank lid gave way under Gril Cat's weight and would fall into the tank! The fish would be fine, but the cat would be a mess for a week or so. Then, she'd do it, again!
So, we gave the tank away, because the mess, traumatized cat, and the dazed and sometimes dead fish, were becoming a bi-weekly event! I miss listening to the kids (then 12 years old), tell their "fish stories," puns and jokes. Now, I can make punny cards for them, whenever I have the need.
I stamped the images in Adirondack's Espresso and colored them in with Copic Markers.
Finished card size: 4 1/4" x 5 1/2"
Total time to complete: 36 minutes.

Faith, this is stunning! Love that fish and the cool mosaic look border. Your colors are always wonderful - but that blue on this is so vibrant and awesome. Great card!
