First, I used a mini iron to put yellow wax randomly on the water color paper so it would absorb the wax. Then, I loaded the iron with banks of blue, green, and red and turned it on its side, using it like a bulldozer I pushed the wax over the card very slowly making slow circles outward. The yellow, being applied first, stands out over the other colors. This is a very different affect than using the iron on glossy white and the flat part of the iron. When done, I decided it was a little too yellow so I took my red wax block and just colored directly on the card. I also framed the encaustic using a nestie oval and roughed up the edges of the "frame".
