You chose an interesting element, Julia, for todays' Ways to Use it. I love texture. And I knew I wanted to use this Diva Impressions image which includes a wonderful sentiment.
"I dropped a tear
in the ocean,
and whenever
they find it
I'll stop loving you,
only then."
I inked the stamp with various Nick Bantock inks directly onto white cs. I used white twine, dragging it through Tim Holtz 'weathered wood and frayed burlap to create the pier. The bird was stamped again in VersaMagic black and popped above the pier. The background paper is from Basic Grey Wisteria...it reminded me of drops. I added tiny shells from a recent trip to the coast. The card base is PTI Hawaiian Shores.
Thanks for having a look and I would love to know what you think of my take on the WT.

Susan I love what you've done here. Your use of the twine is awesome, at first I thought it was part of the stamped image. You do such neat things! I just love this card, unfortunately it reminds me how much I miss the ocean shore (Lake Erie is nice, but it's just not the same - even w/ the 5 - 8 footers today!).
Since you are my neighbor today, come on over anytime!

Susan, this card is amazing.......in a lot of ways. I think the direct to paper made a fab bg of scenery. Less is more. The post for the bird is truly inspired, but the best of all is the sentiment. You always seem to find just the perfect words. This is one I'll save. It says what I would say if I had a poetic soul. TFS, GF!!! Right into my favs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
