The upper background is done using the shaving cream technique on glossy cardstock. I used a red reinker for this. I covered the bag with a mask (paper cut out) so that I could sponge on a shadow at the base of the bag. I stamped the bag in gray on my white cardstock first. Then using thin paper, I made a stencil cut out of the bag. To do this I just stamped the bag onto scrap paper and cut the image out from the string down. I then laid this over the gray stamped bag on my cardstock and could easily fit all of the stamped candies in the bag without stamping over the edges. I used a SU set called “All Wrapped Up” to make this card. And the sentiment is from a set called “Sincere Salutations”. I covered the entire piece of white cardstock that the bag is stamped on with a scrap of a cello bag. I just wrapped this over the image and used scotch tape to hold it in place on the back before mounting it onto the red cardstock frame. This shinny effect makes the bag look more realistic. The thin red string is a shinny cord sold in stores at Christmas time. This is a Nan original.

This is a really nice finished card. The background is perfect for the subject. I love you you placed some shadow under the bag and put the bow on it to add dimension.

The pinky tinges in the shaving cream background reminds me of those strawberry (I think they're called) Campino candies...mmm...makes me hungry just looking at it!

Love how you did this card. It makes you want to get started on your cards for 2006.
