Well that was an adventure! And I have to say I don't know if I'll try many more smashing flower cards. The first attempt-which you aren't going to see-squished so jubilantly that I thought it disgusting. But I did think of the ones I tried that the moss roses would be worthy of another attempt. Who would have thought flowers would be so juicy?
I actually don't have true watercolour paper in my possession but I have this lovely handmade coarse paper that has a unique texture. So that is what I used. Perhaps it sucked up the flower juice more effectively, I don't know.
I roughed up the edges of the paper a bit, somehow it seemed to lend itself to that look. The cool ribbon like 'stuff' along the edge had a blend of the colours I was hoping to draw out. Oh, and the red base is the new SU poppy red cardstock, an intense red. I like it.
I took the photo outside, near where the flowers had grown up... it seemed fitting...

Hey there my flower-smashing friend! Who knew that flowers could be so juicy is right!!! But it was kind of fun seeing what the results would be ~ and yours are quite beautiful I must say. I think what you call Moss Rose, I call Portulaca - and yes indeedy, I was surprised how juicy they were! I too had some rather disgusting results before I got anything I'd put onto a card! Poor CB didn't know what was going on! Love how your "ribbon stuff" coordinates with your flower image. Off to a "New Catty Open House" tonight with my sister and my niece (in Camrose). I wasn't overly taken with the new In-Colours when I saw them last week but think I'll love the new core colours. Saw a few things in the catty I might own someday. J Have a good day! Happy Canada Day tomorrow! J

Oh, you did this challenge! I was too chicken to attempt it! This is a beautiful result! I love your colors and the fibers! I have a ton of fibers, and should start using them! Love your card, and glad you did the challenge! TFS
