Joan Ervin gave us a unique challenge today for the TLC. It was called "Pounded Flowers". The challenge and tutorial are here: Forums at Splitcoaststampers
I had some wilting hydrangeas on our kitchen table and thought I would try it with them. They were mainly blue-violet, but there was one pink-violet one. I wet my watercolor paper and ran them thru my CB. Surprise!! I got greys, tans, and shades inbetween!...no blues or pinks. BUT, I LIKED it!! I decided it could be an interesting bg for some other images. I thought an embossed silver would complement the bg. This really was a LOT of fun!! Thanks, Joan! Great job filling in for Holly today.

WOW, this is so pretty Sallie!! It was the first thing I saw this morning when I popped my laptop open. I'm so glad I read what you wrote too. Maybe I will have to try something like this. You are always so creative and come up with some very lovely cards. The embossing looks awesome on here.

Love the effect of this technique and how your card turned out! Guess I'll have to go make a cut on the bush with pink flowers. I've been looking at it for a couple of weeks. Now I know what can do with it. I wonder what colors I'll get...

What an amazing technique, you'd be sure to get something completly individual every time you tried it! This is a beautiful card - so soft and delicate looking.
