Congrats ConnieJo - you are so well deserving of the crown, and it's been a blast going thru your gallery of amazing cards and funny stories. The minute I saw this one I thought of my dog Theodore RedBud. He was actually the only dog I've ever owned... although I love dogs, I've always been a cat person. Anyway, Bud was an Irish Setter - a tad high strung, but a great pal. He and my cat Neptune got along famously, at times pretending to be enemies, but always found curled up together taking naps. One winter day I climbed up on the roof to shovel off the snow. It's something we have to do up here in da U.P. of Michigan - keeps the roofs from caving in. Anyway, Neptune was famous for climbing ladders, and he was up there with me. Bud was running back and forth under the ladder, barking and whining. All of a sudden, I realized it was quiet. I looked around, and there was Bud, up on the roof with us! All fine and dandy, until it was time to come down. I couldn't coax him down the ladder no matter what I tried. Couldn't get him to jump off either. I ran inside and got my camera to take the photo, then proceeded to make a huge pile of snow next to the porch roof. Bud still won't come down. Couldn't push, couldn't pull... the only option was to throw him off.
Did you ever try to throw an Irish Setter off a roof? Not an easy feat by any stretch of the imagination. Hence I've attached proof... a photo of Bud on the roof!
The image is from an online coloring book, colored with Copics and layered behind an embossed frame. Sponged the edges, tore some paper for snow, cut out a pine tree as a tribute to Connie's backdrop, and popped it up.
Again....CONGRATS ConnieJo! Thanks for your sweet comments and for sharing your sense of humor with all of us.

Oh my goodness, I am laughing so hard my rolly polly tummy hurts. I didn't realize that really hard laughing could be such good exercise. This is an adorable card and what a story. I bet he never climbed up on the roof again. I visited a friend with an Irish Setter once and I could not believe how fast and long they can run through a house. No fan needed in their house.
Thank you so much for honoring me today with this adorable card, great story and the first bit of exercise I have had since I helped sis clean her pools......she may disagree with this statement but I stand by it!!!
hugs,
by the way, you shovel your roof. my roof would cave in. I can barely get through the snow on the ground. no ladders carrying a shovel for me...they would not find my until spring. lol.

I was going to get some cleaning done today (ya' know, if it needs it or not...) and here I am reading these funny stories. This is good and you have a great illustration. He does look kind of apprehensive!

too too cute, what an awesome story, I'm sure getting up the ladder was a breeze compared to him wanting to come down it. At least you got him down safely, love your card and how fabulous to have a coloring book image that matches, TFS

FOTFLMAO, this is so funny. An Irish Setter on the roof and all the trouble it took to get him down. OMG, thank you so much for a great story. Love the card as well, great case.

What a LOL funny story and with photos! I love this. Love your card too, so very sweet. Reminds me of early married years. DH and I had two old english sheep dogs. We would take them to the park and let them run. One time we couldn't find Barney, the deaf one. I turned to find him going up the ladder of the slide and sliding down with some young kids. Boy, he sure was having fun! Wish I would have had a camera with me. Your story reminded me of this and for that I thank you. TFS :0)
