Are you like me and you just LOVE holiday cookies? Oh I love holiday cookies. Yum My favorite are sugar cookies, of course (Recipe below). Well if you do (love holiday cookies) then follow me to today's Teapot Tuesday Challenge (teaparty):Forums at Splitcoaststampers
Lovely Lorraine (pidgesmom) is hosting today's teaparty. She has chosen a cutie of a teapot and is having a cookie walk. Oh how fun.
We are to bring our favorite cookies (6 doz) and our recipe. Well this is mine, because you don't have to chill the dough. Love that. Also these are a great way to use up candy canes before and after Christmas for your New Years Celebrations:
Lisa's Favorite Christmas Cookies
(Using up your candy canes)
1cup butter
1cup sugar
1 large egg
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 teaspoons baking powder
3 cups flour
Vanilla frosting
Candy canes (crushed)
Cream wet ingredients. In separate bowl sift together dry ingredients. Add dry ingredients to wet, one cup at a time. Add last cup by hand. DO NOT CHILL DOUGH. Form dough into small balls and press down on them using a flat glass dipped in sugar. Bake at 400 for 8-10min. Cool.
Frost with vanilla frosting by placing a teaspoon full on top of cookie and swirl with back of spoon almost to edge. Sprinkle with crushed candy canes. Yum.

Great use of texture and color. I bet you are all about presentation in your baking. Bet I will be able to spot your plate of goodies at the cookie walk.

That is just a scrumptious looking cupcake! So beautifully decorated just for the holidays. How wonderful.
Aha, you get extra points for using candy in your cookie recipe. (I have absolutely no idea what the points are good for, maybe we'll find out in the future!) It surely looks like a good one. I'll be filing that one away to try also.
So glad you could come to the Cookie Walk/Tea Party this week!

Those sound extremely nice!! When I get time - tomorrow - I will be copying and pasting and printing the yummy recipes from the tea party this week. I might even have to buy some candy canes!! I like your wonderful looking cup-cake too. I always loved those little silver dragees when I was little, though now I think more about my teeth.
