When Bertie learned that Santa was getting all annoyed by a teddy bear echoing all of his commands to his reindeer (the bear was in his sack of toys), she knew she had to help out Santa. She didn't want Santa to get so annoyed that he stopped delivering toys to the boys and girls around the world, so she had to come up with a plan to stop the annoying teddy bear......hence, a snowball fight!
If you want an understanding of this week's Teapot Tuesday story being hosted by our wonderfully talented hostess, CarrollAnn (MrsBoz), check it out here on CarrollAnn's blog:
For those of you who know my alter ego, Bertie, you know that she looks forward to the Teapot Tuesday parties because it is the one day of the week that she can get away with flinging stuff. And what better stuff to fling than the white, fluffy kind of stuff! Well, Bertie is always looking for a way to make extra money to support her stamping habit, so she came up with the brilliant idea to sell snowballs for 5 cents each!
Why not check out the challenge on CarrollAnn's blog or in the Teapot Tuesday forum under Challenges and play along? Be sure to use keyword MMTPT70 when uploading your project so we can all see it!
Oh, yeah, the other requirement this week that CarrollAnn has given us is that we have to tell either the best Christmas present we ever received or the worst. Money was always tight in our household and there were five of us children, so we usually got one---sometimes TWO----presents a year. I remember one year Santa brought us a group gift, which was a tobaggon. Man, oh man! Was that a fun gift!!! We took our tobaggon out for a trial run later that day sledding down the hills in our woods (never fearing that we might run into a tree for goodness sake!) I think that is one of my fondest memories of the good times with my siblings. I can still hear our laughter as we went flying down the hill and trying to steer clear of the trees!! It was such a perfect Christmas Day with the snow falling, too.
So, are ya ready for a snowball fight? Well....are ya....punk? Hee!

nana nana booboo, can't catch me with your ole snowball!!
Love your cute little snow lobbing reindeer though and the lovely wintery scene. So pretty and sparkly, fun for a winter or holiday card! You may want to send it to Schirmcat and let her kindly know that this is what may lie in wait for her if she puts you on the Naughty list this year. Just a thought...

So this snowball fight isn't just a rumour! Well, I'll sling snowballs, no problem - even at 5c a shot. Reminds me of a time we had a snowball fight with neighbours - we were up in our treehouse with limited supplies of snow, and they were on road below with infinite supplies. On the other hand, any of their snowballs that reached the tree could be recycled straight back at them. Goodness, I'd totally forgotten about that till I read Bertie's story. There's never enough snow here for people to have a proper toboggan - it's usually old fertilizer sacks or trays on the rare event that there is enough.
