I'm jes so proud to be here!!! WhoooooEeeeee!!! a teaparty at the ole Ryman, I never heard of the like, but I sure bet we's gonna have fun...I'm sure glad I got the invite cuz I heard my friend Pam T. was gonna be there to sing my song....y'know the one:
Year after year, every week at the Ryman
She had em laughin till she had em cryin
Fate had a star, the world had a diamond
in a two dollar hat....
Yeah, that girl sure can write a purty song... Now y'all pass me a cup of that teashine so I can enjoy the party......Cuzzin Lester and brother, now they want to know what we wimmen want to sit around gossipin over tea fer.....but I don't get hows they have to have their heads up under the hood of a truck before they can discuss the goins on...so I guess we's about even.....at least we don't have none of those awful noises comin from our little shindig.....
Thx Maureen for hosting this weeks party. I do like Johnny but when I think of the Opry, it reminds me of spending summers with my Granny, and sittin on the porch in the evenin listenin to the singin. But our favorite was Minnie Pearl....Oh Lordy, she had us laughin.....
The background of this card is inspired by my Granny's cotton dresses and ever present apron...

When my Grandpa Jones lived with us when I was much younger, he used to watch Hee Haw and I would sit with him 'cause he always gave me candy bars and then let me watch what I wanted on his tv - yes I was spoiled by him ;-) I remember Minnie Pearl and the Grandpa Jones that was also on the show - not the same as mine though ;-) Clever clever hat - and fun card! Great tribute to your grandma!!

Sheri - you totally nailed this challenge. I love that hat and that price tag is... well... priceless! What a great card - you captured the challenge and some wonderful childhood memories (yours and so many others'). I didn't appreciate Minnie that much until I watched one of those specials on her that they do on stars. Boy, she was so smart and so creative. Can you imagine the cards she would make if she had been on SCS!
Wonderful job and BTW, I have my cards ready for the mail tomorrow - don't faint!
