This was a week when I didn't use Flourishes stamps for the weekly challenge because as soon as I saw the sketch, this design popped into my head. Even before I saw Silke's beautiful sweet-pea, I wanted to cut an oval frame, instead of mounting an oval panel. But it's been a busy week, so it's only today I got time to make the card...
The base is A2 white linen finish. For the stamped image, I lightly tinted some watercolour paper with a very pale cerulean blue wash, and then stamped the leaves with a Marvy marker. I used an aquapainter to draw the colour into the leaves. The flowers were stamped onto some pink paper from the Two Scoops pad and cut out. The frame is made from two more papers from Two Scoops, cut with oval Nestabilities and layered. Luckily I had just got the large ovals this week, so I was able to graduate them much better than if I'd still only had the small ones. For the little round accents from the sketch, I just added more of the little pink flowers.
For the bottom strip I used the Vines texture folder from Fiskars to emboss the border, and then highlighted it with Liquid Pearls. The butterfly was punched from the same pink as the flowers, embossed with swirls and more Liquid Pearls added, along with a touch of Stickles on the body. I stamped a birthday sentiment from Woodware, and that was it I really liked this sketch, hope to come back to it again.
