This is my submission for today's Ways to Use It challenge--Beautiful Buttons (WT220). The challenge was to incorporate buttons in our card submission in some way.
I needed to make a retirement card for my kids' gym teacher's upcoming retirement at the end of the school year. I thought that a cherry theme would make a fun and summery way to wish her a happy retirement. [The inside sentiment reads "Let the relaxation begin! (Happy retirement)" ] I chose to use buttons as the cherries on some of my fruit images.
In my mind cherries go hand in hand with red gingham and kelly green, so my color choices were set as soon as I chose the cherries. This was a relatively quick card to make. My only frustration was that the gingham pattern on the paper was printed crooked!! That made it really hard to line things up :( I hope it's not too noticeable.

What a great take on the challenge! I love the cherry buttons. I agree with you about the color scheme- cherries just scream for red and green- and the gingham is very picnic-y (is that even a word?!). TFS!
