This was a untimely challenge for me, Julie and Lynn. Let me explain! Our DS turned 20 this last week and you would think I would be all over the special card...but NOOOOO such Birthday card! We visited him, attending some special events, packing presents, and favorite foods, but not the card! So actually today's TLC worked like a dream!
I altered the purse to a more masculine feel, by using SU's slot punch and drawing it closed with a bit of black suede cord. It pops the sides out a bit, but I think it works well. The cardbase is Brazzill red textured from the Christmas pack (Michaels). I used Judikins' Butler's tray, inked with ColorBox raven black lightly embossed using GP white cs. I added a big purple gem brad (DS's fav color) for the cuff link. On the tray is 20 candles (using the candles from SU's Birthday Banter), same ink and paper as tray. I used Diamond Stickles and colored the candles with Copic Pumpkin Orange. The fun Happy Birthday font is from Crafty Secrets...inked directly to paper with ColorBox black.
Underneath the crinkle stuffing are 20 strips of paper folded like fortune cookies. I wrote little bits of every celebration for each year...word pictures. I know he'll treasure this tiny remembrances.
Thanks for looking, my fingers and nails have been so pretty for the last 12 days...but no more...I'm back. The nail polish will chip and my fingers will be inky...I love it!

Susan, this is great. You can't have a 20 year old. You are too young looking. I love your more masculine box(purse) or is it a handbag? I love the candles. How neat that you have 20 candles on the tray. I think that on the tray, that we can't see, is one of those jumbo chocolate chip cookies with the candles sticking in it. Love the brad cufflink.

Man-o-man, Susan is this ever the BEST! I just love it. I'm sure your DS will too. I love the idea of the word pix inside. What a cherished gift this will be. I'm sure you were very young when you started your family!! I'm not to into these foldy projects, but this is fabulous.
