The title is from the old French Linguaphone tapes which DH has. A family from Canada go to France for a holiday. Marie-Claire is shopping in the grands magasins, and she's looking for a little black dress, because black goes with everything. It's one of DH's catch-phrases from the tapes.
I've been meaning to use this RAK image from Anne Ryan, and only yesterday when I commented on RobinRingtail's lovely card, I said I still hadn't found a challenge that would fit with it and would have to make a just because card - and along comes today's LSC. Perfect. Even better, it's another card for yesterday because of all the outlining I had to do on my lovely purple lotus tissue.
Black base leaving lots of black for impact as per challenge. I edged it with a gold pen. I thought I didn't have much of this purple tissue left as I used it in a card kit swap, but I must have got another sheet of it I used it for the mat layer and also to cut out several of the smaller flowers for embellishment. I I had to go round them all with a gold gel pen. I painted the image with H2Os. I used quite a bit of interference gold, so I've snuck in a little small detail pic showing how it shimmers with the light on it.
Simple, and fun.
Thanks Dawn for the challenge and Anne for the RAK.
I've learnt a lesson too - with a RAK image next time I'll make a photocopy or two just to practice colouring. I will use my first one, but it's in my spares box and not on this card.
ps - the purple in her dress is actually much clower to the paper colour than it looks.
