I had several favorites when it comes to childrenÂ’s stories but THE VELVETEEN RABBIT came to mind first so I focused on it. I adored the story because, though itÂ’s a fairy tale, it says a lot about LOVE. In real life love can conquer things that seem impossible.
The colors were chosen around the velvet ribbon. It’s from the retired SU Ribbons Originals “Flirty” pack. After coloring the image I laid the card out and it seemed “too bright” so I took my Scor-Pal and scored the squares on the DSP, then used a blender pen and Creamy Caramel ink to fill the scored parts. I then took a dauber and Chocolate chip ink and rubbed the velvet ribbon to give it a vintage look. It still seemed “too new” so I used the color spritzer and spritzed Close to Cocoa across the entire card. I love how it turned out.
Thanks for hosting this fun challenge!

This is just beautiful. You have an amazing eye, everything just fits together perfectly. LOVE the velvet ribbon, and that bunny is coloured just like my Chloe.
