Happy Thursday and welcome to this week's Ways to Use It Challenge, Trash to Treasure! Carla here, with my first time in the hostess seat, and tickled pink to be here.
My parents were creative, frugal crafters, skilled at turning trash to treasure. There wasn't much they couldn't turn into a piece of art. My challenge to you, follow that frugal, crafty path. Use at least one thing on your card you would have tossed in the garbage or recycle bin. Need some ideas? Security envelopes have great designs, so do newspapers, junk mail, tissue boxes and packaging. Produce netting gives great texture and acrylic and foil are great surfaces for alcohol inks. The foil lids of yogurt are one of my favorites!
I'm looking forward to seeing your creativity. When you're done, upload your card with the keyword WT587, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card. In your description, please tell us the trash you used and how you used it.
Here's a link to our crafty gallery WT587 Trash to Treasure! Take a look and be sure to leave some love.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how:
1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread
2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link.
3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on)
4. Click EDIT. Click COPY
5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Thanks Lisa and Sabrina for your marvelous samples! Here's a link to mine Fishing for ZZZZs.
Congratulations on your first challenge as hostess, Carla.....and a great one it is!! We just had to "dumpster dive" in our own wastebaskets to recycle a "find". Thanks.
WOO HOO it's your first challenge Carla!!! :p What a fun one...I didn't have to look far for my recycled item..it was leftover from breakfast (and no I'm not talking an edible part like some crumbs or a piece of scrambled egg  )...Anyway here's my card:
Congratulations on being hostess today! What a great challenge, Carla! I have a drawer of "stuff" I didn't throw away, because I might use it on a card! LOL. So, when I get home this afternoon, I will work on this.
Such a fun challenge today, Carla! I used a piece of heavy, coated paper cut from a shopping bag that I've been saving because it was too pretty to throw away!
Congrats on your challenge, Carla! Whether I get to stamp or not ... your vegetable netting hammock is the best use of this item I've ever seen on a card. What a fabby creation!
Carla- a challenge after my own heart! For my card today- a new friend told me it was her 13 year old's birthday next week so I made her this card (left it blank inside for my friend to use) and did a bit of stitching. This accompanies the red/black/ninja themed lap quilt I put together with charm pack style squares last night (also posted soon). Background is the wrapped gift with a red curly ribbon Hope she likes it! Here's Goldfishies

Carla- had to do another card- got out my sewing needle and did a gathered panel for fun to accent the purple tone of the sledder. Used some ribbon and yarn for my other accents. Here's Purple and Blue

Everyone is so inventive, using all sorts of things. Such a challenge for me. I went thru my discarded scraps of card and papers, which I use underneath a piece Im working on. This seemed to be the only viable one...Leftover Roses
Thanks for the fun challenge, Carla! I have lots of stuff I saved from the trash, lol. Just ask my hubs..I never throw anything away. Here's my Frog on a Log. Thanks so much for looking.
Carla- revisited your challenge, and combined it with the Weather challenge for friday. I re purposed a floral card (WT587) and a light blue paint sample card for my background, and added a fussy cut stamped umbrella with raindrops. Used a yellow gingham strip, yellow bead, some gems and washi tape as my embellies. Cooler and overcast here Here's May flowers
