It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week. I thought today we would mark the fact that Edward Lear was born on this day in 1812. While Lear is mostly known nowadays for his nonsense poems, he was also an illustrator and artist. Of course one of his most famous poems is "The Owl and the Pussycat" - so today I am asking you to use either an owl or a cat on your card - and bonus points if you include both!!
When you've made your card, upload it with the keyword WT583, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card, especially if (happens to me!!) there's a typo in your keyword.
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Thank you to Lisa and Cathy for such gorgeous samples!
For somebody that doesn't have an afinity for cats - I sure have alot of CAT stamps! (Probably because so many of my friends have cats . . . .anyway here's my card:
We could choose between a cat or an owl - or we could use both. I chose to use a cat - big black cat!

Had fun adding an owl image to my ocean scene, embellished with metallic dps. Added some baker's twine ties, and gems for the crest of the first wave. Here's Sea Owl

Oh, my gracious! So..... I need an "I am sorry" card and the only one I could think of that I own is a Newton one. So I decided to hop over here to see what the challenge is today and see if I could combine. Woohoo! A cat or an owl is the challenge but now after a very long day, I am soooo tired and was thinking of skipping it but lo and behold, there are hardly any cats represented in the gallery so I think I need to go make myself a cup of tea and get this cat card made!! Thanks Sabrina for the fabulous challenge!
I was already wondering before Angie mentioned she thought the divide was quite even, so I thought I'd do a quick headcount of owls vs cats in the gallery!!
Who said the owl trend was over!!
In spite of Julie's 8 cute kitties on her card, the owls are ahead to date at 31, with 25 cats (not counting owls on DP).
And quite a few bonuses for people managing to include both.
Finally got something done for Sabrina's challenge. I really loved coloring this, quick and easy. Putting the rest of the card together - not so quick. I know it should be but I always have to look at everything three different ways. Fresh Flowers by pvilbaum - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
