It's Sabrina here as your hostess this week, and I am challenging you to use brushwork of some sort on your cards today. You must use a brush - not just an image of one ;-), though of course it's fine to do that too.
At the most basic level you can just use a brush for colouring, but I hope you will challenge yourself to do something a little different and stretch yourself - that's how we grow and develop, after all.
Ideas to try - brushstroke painting; dry brush painting; tole painting on your card; use brushes for adding chalk, Perfect Pearls or similar mediums either direct to paper or after stamping with Versamark; use a stipple or stencil brush; use a brush to add spatters to your card. I often use a soft brush and chalk pastels scraped over a card to create a soft background.
When you've brushed up your card, upload it with the keyword WT555, and then come back and share a link here - that makes it easy for people to find your card .
Here's a link to my sample, I stretched myself by adding big brushtrokes with a wash brush, and spattering:WT555 Art
If you're not sure how to add a link, here's how: 1. Open 2 windows or tabs: one for your card in the gallery, and one for this thread 2. In this thread, click on reply and type anything you want to show before the link. 3. Go to your card window. Highlight the address for your card. (It says www. splitcoaststampers.com/gallery/showphoto..... and so on) 4. Click EDIT. Click COPY 5. Go back to this thread. Click PASTE.
Thank you for providing great inspiring samples, Linda and Lisa!

Hi Sabrina, I tried the salt technique for the first time on this card- I used my aqua painter to brush on the reinker colors -so I thought it qualified for your challenge

I was so excited to see this challenge to make a card using brushes! I recently signed up for the Online Class for watercolors and have been using brushes on a daily basis for homework samples. How cool to be able to practice what I've learned on the card for this challenge.
