Ok, I'm confused. As long as we use the same stamp set can we do any lay out and color combo?? I've been racking my brain to keep the lay out, colors and focal stamp the same, duh! If that's not the case I can go to town!
I think in the beginning a lot of stampers were confused with the rules. It's supposed to be "same color, same layout, same stamps." That's what I've stuck to. Maybe modifying the shade of the pink or green or brown. But those are the 3 colors I've used. Oh, you can switch out the neutral.
Oh I thought it was same focal image, which to me meant same main stamp. I guess I should have picked a stamp set instead of a single stamp. Well I can find some coordinating ones myself. Off to the stamp room... I have a ton of ideas now.
Yes the idea was the same stamp or stamp combo for the central image, same layout, and same color combo with the accent color flexible. I thought it would be an interesting artistic exercise in different styles. Everyone seems to have done their own thing though, but tha's OK. I think the most important thing is if you stretched your creativity and learned something and had some fun. My only problem is with the prizes. Will the stampers who stuck precisely to the challenge be upset if someone wins who didn't and how do I decide who stuck to it enough and who did not?! Yikes! I'm so glad that you all enjoyed this challenge so much. Thanks for all your great comments. And I promise this Thursday's challenge will be much easier so some of you can get some sleep!
I didn't mean you or anyone else was the monster, Heather. It was more just a saying and the dilemma in my own mind. I always obsess too much about things that don't matter...worry, worry, worry! I want everyone to be happy and everyone to like me! I hope no one took my previous post the wrong way!
BTW, I just posted a thread in general stamping about different styles... Visit the link and put in your two cents worth to get it going!
Yep, I think I trailed off there by changing the focal image to another stamp in the set. So I"m going back to the flowers! Thanks for pointing that out Heather. It's all for fun. My biggest dilemma is...What to do with so many cards! hehe.

No matter who wins what, Julia. This was a GREAT challenge. It made me think and think and think!!! You did good and I think we were all winners for tackling this challenge -- especially during VSN weekend when everything else went out the window! Thanks for your time and input!

Too many ideas & not enough time...I'll try to get as many of the rest of my ideas done by midnight, but even if I don't I think I'll still post them later---playing this is fun!
I agree with who ever posted that it would be nice to create a master list of styles.
Well, I have an even dozen, so I'm going to quit. I need to get on to other things, like yesterday's & today's challenges (Roxie will punish me if I don't do her challenge for her birthday week!), oh, and housework - eeeww!, and errands! Here is #12: geisha.
Julia, I had so much fun doing this challenge. Even though I used the same image & layout, it was difficult coming up with ways to make the card look different. Too bad y'all can't see them all lined up next to each other. Totally fun to see the similarities & differences.
I have a new scanner and I'm having a hard time getting the colors to be true to life. Anyone have ideas on how to make scanners behave?

I was trying to fix my scanner's colors too! Pretty annoying when an impressive card looks blah on the screen. Keep me posted if you figure anything out and viceversa.
