WT340 - Back to School Week 3 -Chalkboard (9/15/11)
It's back to school month for our Ways to Use It challenges. I decided to go with the Chalkboard technique! I still have nightmares about cleaning erasers and cringe at the sounds that can be made with such an innocent looking board! So lets make some beautiful chalkboard cards! You don't have to use a school theme, just use the technique.
Chalkboard Technique is stamping on dark card stock in white ink and then using colored pencils to color either on the white ink or just to color in the image. It looks so much like a chalkboard drawing when you are done!
Remember to use the keyword WT340 when uploading your card so we can all see it! You can view the entire gallery for this challenge HERE

Fun challenge, Teresa............and a new technique for me. I don't think I'll go back to my Prismacolors, giving up my Copics, but it is an interesting technique.....totally different look.
I wasn't feeling like a card today, so I made a tag for my daughter's back pack. I laminated it so it wouldn't get ruined (right away). I did have the forethought to photograph it before I laminated it so I wouldn't get so the glare. I had to put the eyelet in after I laminated it, so my attached photo looks a little incomplete.
For the Ways to Use It Challenge (white ink on a blackboard), I set up our campsite. There's a 3/4 moon, fireflies, a campfire with marshmallows, and a huge sleeping bag. Don't forget to turn off the lantern when you go to sleep!
I used some black cardboard and found it was easier to use my white pigment ink on this surface. I thought a sunflower yellow background made a nice contrast- and I added Inkadinkado's maple leaf stamp to accent the sunflower. The DC buttons were stamped with the same sunflower stamp from Inkadinkado, and I finished with some lace. Enjoy!

SC350, WT340 Ghouls just want to have fun by Crafty Julia
I found these adorable clear stamps from Studio G a few weeks ago and finally got a chance to use them. I thought the blackboard/white ink motif (WT340) worked well for the ghosts and witch. The diagonal layout (SC350) gave me the chance to use some of my Halloween paper. I made 2 tags- a small one for the ghosts, and a large one for Ghouls (that) just want to have FUN Here's my card:
WT340 There's mischief brewing on Hallowe'en by Crafty Julia
I love this witch and owl image from Dragonfly Laser, but I had a hard time getting a good stamped impression. I finally decided to combine different versions of this duo to form one image- here's what it reads at the bottom:
When the Owl & Witch
Together are seen
There's mischief brewing
on Hallowe'en
I added some flying bats-and for the WT340 challenge - a black background and white ghosts) Here's my card: WT340 There's mischief brewing on Hallowe'en by Crafty Julia - Cards and Paper Crafts at Splitcoaststampers
