Julia, thank you for for such an uber-cool challenge! I knew when I first read it that I wanted to participate, and have had it 'on the back burner' simmering until I came up with this project.
I explored old buttons, recalling how long ago I cut them from this or that ... nothing struck me. I went through old ribbons needing a 'repurpose'. Nada. Then I just 'moved on' without thinking about it. Voila!
I've plucked a pinecone from the front yard to cut up & make the photo corner here ... it works just right for ... Riley Goes Lumberjacking!
This is the first challenge I've ever done. I just re-organized my craft area and really needed some inspiration. I haven't made any cards or scrapped in ages. This seemed like the perfect challenge to get me going.
Frugal is the way to go. I have used cards I have kept for 29 years (yes 29!!!) and made some cards for the Australian Bush Fire Survivors...there are 6 cards so they are in 2 photos...the first of which is here:

As the self-proclaimed 'Queen of Cheap', it killed me to not be able to do this challenge last Thursday! I have about eight bizillion more items and ideas for this one, but meanwhile, I incorporated today's color challenge into this card: A Kiss for the Challenge(s) by gregzgurl at Splitcoaststampers
Thanks for looking!
I'm new to this, but wanted to submit a card using recycled bill envelope paper. In this economy, why not make something fun out of something you would normally toss in the recycle bin?
Well, this card was made for FIL's b-day and for the WT207 (Frugal Finds) challenge. My frugal find was the Life is Sweet chipboard centerpiece which I got at Mike's for 49 cents for a package of 11 different pieces made by K&Co-Amy Butler.
Well, I found the coolest thing in my trash can today; the chipboard backing from a new punch. It had the greatest printed pattern on it. Here's the card I made with it:
