WT09 - Please join us for the Ways to Use It Challenge
This week's Ways to Use It Challenge is a very easy one so that everyone should be able to play....RIBBON. You can use either size organdy or grosgrain ribbon, gingham or anything that you have on hand. I love how ribbon often provides that finishing touch to "tie" it all together. Show us how you like to use ribbon and perhaps we'll even think up some great new ideas for it.
Oops! I did forget to mention....Please put WT09 in the keywords section and post a link back here on this thread so that we all can enjoy your great ideas!
Okay, I'm new to this whole thing, but I'm thinkin' I'd like to give it a try. Being a girly girl like I am, ribbon is one of my favorite things! I'll try to make something mega-cute by tomorrow - have a "Making Cards from 12x12 Card Stock" class tonight!

Julia...
This is such a great challenge. There is an abundance of ribbon at my house, but I always get into the rut of using it the same boring ways. I'm excited to see some different ideas. Thanks for posting these challenges. I hope to post my own ribbon card by tomorrow!

I don't really stamp much. I'm just here for the company.
Still a little burned out from VSN, LOL, but will think of something! Thanks for adding this to your challenge list. I too need ideas for different uses and look forward to what everyone comes up with.
I'm so glad you are all going to give this challenge a try! Here is the first card I made for it (another challenge combo). I used grosgrain and organdy ribbon together and layered them for a different look.
I received an email at work, today, announcing a co-workers 5oth birthday. I already had this card envisioned before I came home... I planned to use B&W gingham ribbon!
I will try to get something done for this challenge. Got a lot to do but I will do my best. I wanted to post this though. Julia, you said how you like that ribbon will give that extra finishing touch. I have an example of that in my gallery. I made a card for a friend and I didn't like how it turned out so I asked our very talented SCS ladies what I should do to jazz it up. I got the suggestion for a ribbon. I changed the card slightly but not much and then I added a ribbon. It made a HUGE difference. Anyhow, here are both of the examples. The first is the original and the second is what it looked like when it was completed. I WILL try my best to get something done for this challenge though. Here is a baby thank you card I just made. I tied the ribbon around the sentiment vertically.. I like how it adds a little pizazz. I'm really loving the gingham ribbon right now.
Hi, I didn't even know these challenges existed, but jen70 suggested that I link one of my cards to it. Now that I'm here, it really does fit in perfectly!
I needed to do a card for a swap I am in so I added some ribbon to it so I could use it for this challenge. I used some of the new colors and the wax paper resist technique as well. Gallery at Splitcoaststampers

I have a few more cards I've made but my camera has run out of batteries! To help inspire you, here is a list of ideas for ribbon that I had saved from a yahoogroup. I'd love to see some of these ideas used if anything inspires you and you have the time.
