Hello! Welcome to another Watercolor Wednesday Challenge! This week I am going to list three tutorials in the comments below for you to view. We are following PART 3, but if you are fairly new to watercolor there are so many helpful hints in parts 1 and 2 that I thought you might like to check all 3!
Emma really loves Arches paper and she shows how Canson and Arches differ. I thought I would also mention that there are quite a few high-quality brands that the Watercolor Wednesday Challenge team loves. Also as Emma mentions, use what you can! If you can't afford the higher quality papers you can still have a lot of fun and grow in your art. The one thing to remember is something that Emma mentions as well, if you aren't happy with your results it might not be you, it might be your paper.
I went to one of Lydia's Unwind Retreats and the paper she suggested is Fabriano 100% Cotton Extra White 140lbs. This is what I use and love but, in all honesty, I can't afford to use it all the time so I go with Canson. And after watching the tutorial we are using today, I now know why I get the results I do!
Kia likes Arches Cold Press and Fabriano Hot Press.
Brenda's favorite is Fabriano Hot Press
Linda's favorite is Arches for very wet painting and Canson for practicing. She also likes it for Digis!
I hope you find this week's tutorial helpful and fun!

Fantastic informational video, Angie. A part of me wishes it had come earlier in this WC journey although then I would not have understood it as much. I know deep in my heart I also need to invest in something other than my aqua brushes if I want to improve but I'm overwhelmed when I go to Michael's and Hobby Lobby ( my only local choices for products)
Anyway - here's my mountain scene for today!
I would hit the LIKE button, Linda if we had one but I agree with you. It's really lovely to click the gallery button and see a page full of mountain sunsets!
well, I watched all three videos, Its hard to say how much of it I have retained after 24 hours. ( I probably should practice strokes and such but, I am sticking with its the cheap paper thought and since I have a metric ton of it I will most likely use it up before I buy some cotton paper.) here are a couple from me.
Thanks for this challenge Angie, & tfl.
