I've been up but not able to finish my pages yet...prepping the food for the game. Taco Lasagna & veggie platter are ready to go :-) Now off to make Chile con Queso (first time making this recipe) & Cabbage Salad...I'll be back to check in a little after noon....
But in the stalking thread, everyone has to post a recipe they are making for the big event, so I can get recipe ideas and not starve while seeing what others are making!!!

OOoohh, GREAT idea!! I tell ya what, I had some serious cravings during your challenge, Charlsanne! I'm definately going to give those recipes a shot!
We were supposed to go to a birthday party today, but I got a call this morning that the little guy has some respiratory crud going on, so it looks like we'll be watching the game at home! This means I need to come up with some Superbowl food, quick!! I had a craving for guacamole and home made tortilla chips, and the hubs will probably want chicken wings, so at least those are easy and all the ingredients are on hand!

luckily it's just me and the girls, so I don't have to do any cooking here, hubby should be home later tonight but time will tell, at least no need for special foods, will probably be watching toy story here anyway
And I know those recipes really did look pretty yummy!!!

The hubs is the chicken wing maestro, so he takes care of all of that. Now, getting him to make guacamole for me is another story.... ;)
Our one TV is clear on the other end of the house, so if I want to listen to the game I usually turn on the radio. If I had a TV in here, I'd NEVER get any scrapping done! As it is, I have to put in a movie I've seen a dozen times for background noise.... if it's something new I'll sit and watch it and not scrap! LOL
2 minutes left! tick.... tick..... tick.....

and now my little peanut (walnut) decides to wake up from a nap, how did she know it was time to start again????
At least I have a sketch picked out from one of the challenges from last week, and I know the pictures I want to use, just haven't had a chance to put it all together yet, maybe I can at least concentrate on that while she is awake and playing

Another GREAT, GREAT VSBN! I really liked all the challenges and have ideas to finish pages for them. I love when that happens. I just finished Natalie's and I have Vikki's and Rachel's finished w/ titles. Now, to go back to the Shout one. I have the picts and paper laid out....

isn't that a FUN Idea! I did like the schedule for this one! Just enough challenges with time on both ends to finish up what you wanted to get to but didn't!
Hopefully he'll be home soon!
Did Maddy see the Puppy Bowl? It was such a cute show

Come on Maddy...get sleepy so momma can scrap ;-) I think I hit 38 and my body went crazy and needed to be in bed on time, no more 11/mid for me anymore. Now I'm up at 5:45 for dd1 to get ready for HS...who'd a thunk!

I didn't know about it till I saw someone mention it on here - maybe you? She was set on watching toy story, hadn't seen it before, fell asleep as soon as it started last night on tv, so anytime I tried to see what else was on she would tell me to stop pushing buttons, so maybe next year!
And yes the challenge time was perfect, also I really like the 2 hours more than the 3, in case my opinion matters, it was too much time last time.

oh MP I was up at 5:20 this am, hubby's phone rang at midnight with a trip, so he still had to get up at same time, 4:30, then the dog wouldn't come in for him, and I fell back asleep and remembered the dog, who was covered with 1/2" snow in 20 mins time, good thing she's made for it, and been going ever since. Usually up between 5:30 and 6 with Maci, she is a great sleeper, and goes to bed early, but Maddy - she still thinks sleep is overrated, at least I got lucky with one of them!

Yeah, those infant days are made for when your younger :-) DD1 NEVER slept her first year, just a cat nap here and there. When she hit one she napped and I got lucky, she napped until age 5. DD2 napped great that first year, reduced to one 45 min nap until she was about 3 then never napped again. I've done the crazy hours and it seemed easy but now I'm miserable and forever tired if I don't get at least 7 hours of sleep (more like 8 though) ;-)
We only did the 3hr time frames last time just to match our theme and try something different. 2hr is better, definitely!
I'm irritated because I have some Band embellishments I've been saving and now that I'm doing the page...I CAN'T FIND THEM....grrrr!
I also noticed that we didn't have the same theme as VSN. I like the 2 hour challenges too though it seemed like we had more players the last VSBN; guess Superbowl weekend is not the best of times

I guess we should have moved it back by a week? We weren't thinking SuperBowl when selecting dates, we were just looking at the SCS calendar, kwim? ;) Also, maybe we needed the 2 weeks between the mini and Main Event? I wonder if having the same theme brought us more players? I thought the idea was fun to do that since we hadn't tried it before.
I guess I was surprised this time we didn't have more players because during the mini and prior to this we had lots of gals that said they were coming to play? Maybe the weather this week just messed with everyone's schedule?

I like the 2 hour time too. I think I saw several new people this time around though. I just popped in here to see what was going on. I've got to get some bookkeeping done that I put off to do VSBN. Well, actually, I always put it off unitl late. I'll try to pop back in later. I think I have two more challenges to do.

The last VSBN I sent out three PMs to about 50 players...the first as a 'save the date', the second a few days before the mini, and the third just before the main event. I also went into the scrappy threads that were currently active and sent an invitation. I don't think many people go to the main page, I know I just go straight to the Scrapbook Challenges; it's saved under my favorites. Sometimes I go to the main page when my links start freezing up. I think time between the minis would be better or just skip the minis; I don't think people can scrap that often but do set time aside when there is an event...at least that's my .02 :-)
phew, just got Maddy down, that child will talk and talk and talk just to stay awake. I told her a story, then she told me one that last forever, then I had to sing two songs, and the second one is my made up one that can go on for as long as I want, she just wanted it longer. Then she just kept talking and talking, finally I told her to be quiet and close her eyes, then asked if I could take her up to bed - success finally.
MP - believe me I need sleep too, I am only a couple years behind ya, believe me it creeps up on me too, hoping to last longer, but man all I did was yawn trying to get Maddy to sleep, usually she's asleep before I am most nights, it's sad but true!!!
Ok now to check out more challenges, got 3 done, but two double spreads, so at least I am halfway to goal this month! So let me see what I think I can sanely tackle next.

Michele - I think there were some new people too, and probably others at parties, so hopefully there will be some traffic this week with people playing catch up, I know Sewflake is good for catching up on the challenges during the week.
And theme wise, I don't think having the same or different themes matter in terms of players, I think this time maybe it was just timing, although I thought it would have been to the benefit. I do think spreading out the mini to the main event is better though, at least for me it is, I like being sparked to do some challenges on a regular basis, and when they are bunched together, then I lose speed until the next time we have a challenge of sorts.
