FEB11VSBNL~ Sunday, February 6, 2011 ~ 6:00 PM EST ~ Clean It Up!!!
Title: "Clean It Up!!!"
Hostess: Natalie (momofanakin)
Keyword: FEB11VSBNL
Day/Date: Sunday, February 6, 2011
Time: 6:00 PM (EST)
When I am getting ready to scrap my day away, the first thing that gets me in the groove is being clean! I have to shower, dress, etc. Then I have to start with a clean workspace. I like to get out what I need and have it right in front of me, so there is no need for digging, which causes me to lose my creative mojo! I know that this is your last challenge, and you may be surrounded by a mess from completing all the other wonderful challenges., so now is the time to Clean It Up!!!
My challenge to you is to start with a clean workspace. Take some time to put things away, then get out only what you will need for this layout and use it! What will you need? Well, I am challenging you to make a clean and simple layout. Use one solid background paper and minimal, not so busy accent papers. Try not to go crazy with embellishments, remember, clean and simple! Make your photos the center of attention on your layout. Basically, your layout should let the photos shine because the rest of it is clean and simple. Now, Clean It Up and get scrappin!!!
1. To be considered for VSBN Prizes, ALL VSBN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON SUNDAY February 13.
2. You have 2 hours to complete the challenge. Please be sure to write your description of how you interpreted his/her challenge in your Upload Description.
3. Please remember to put in the correct KEYWORD FEB11VSBNL when uploading your image; a wrong keyword means your submission may not be seen for consideration. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure you layout is seen by the host and all visitors.

This has got to be the simplest page I have ever done! I really wanted to add more to it but in the spirit of the challenge, I resisted. Thanks for challenging me Natalie!
I have to admit, my layout was simpler, without the stripes across the middle, but I had a rubon incident, so my artist hubby helped me "fix" it...I mean embellish!!!

Haha...I've got nothing to clean up doing digi! I've got 2 pieces of paper that I've been using to write down files and ideas for each challenge I haven't done yet and a pen!
However, I've just spent the last 45 minutes helping DGS finish his valentine treats for school. I made the little triangular boxes and punched heart holes in for the ribbon. I will put 2 or 3 Hershey Kisses inside each one before threading a name tag on and tying the ribbon closed. I made DGS use the Cuttlebug to make the little name tags and he had to choose which character would go to each classmate. We had 4 frogs, 3 butterflies, 5 rabbits, and 8 bees. Talk about a math challenge ! It took him over 15 minutes to write each one's name and sign them so now I've got to punch a heart punch in each and tie them up! All ready to go out the door on Tuesday.
Now I'll just have to choose which theme to go with to do this last page! Thanks for making it on the easy side. I was just listening to the opening of the Super Bowl and the coin toss is next!
Food is served, dh/bil/dd1&2 are watching the game...I'm hiding out here for the next few hours :-) Gonna upload some completed pages and then work on this...
Natalie, do you know how to link to the gallery for your challenge? I just noticed it wasn't linked. If not, then Rachel or Lela can go in and do it.
If I have a link to the gallery, I can do it, but otherwise, I don't know how. I thought a coordinator did it. Sorry if it is something I was supposed to do!

hmm since I am going the digi route does that mean I need to clean off the desk? Man I will never get this page done, it's a nightmare!!!

Terry- I have considered going digi just because of the lack of cleanup!
Your Valentine's sound so cute, but you do not look old enough to be a grandma!!
I teach first grade, and can't wait to see what my littles bring to school next week. I have taught 3-4 for 13 years, so everything is new and fun this year with the little ones!

I know that when I do anything on the computer (I am a very techy person) like lesson planning or creating a unit, I have files all over the desktop. Maybe you could clean that up!!!

Thanks! I'm only 51 but feel older than that sometimes since DGS came to live with us 7 years ago. He wears us out!
I always try to make his Valentine and Christmas cards and it's nice that this year he can really help out. He's in 2nd grade now and wants to write names, use the cuttlebug and punches. He really enjoys it! He even made a card during VSN a few weeks ago. (another valentine for his girlfriend that he's had since they were 3...so cute!)

I added it! I took care of the one on the Master Challenge thread, just thought I'd beaten you to the punch! LOL

I have actually spent most of the weekend trying to find all of my scrappy stuff . We moved here in July and I have not scrapped since I arrived. Still searching for some stuff. Hopefully I will get a chance to do this one. I like minimal pages. Right now I have to get my DD ready for bed. Went cross country skiing so she should be out quick but DH will be taking over the computer soon.

Thanks, I'm feeling much better! We had to leave early from MI to get home before noon and I guess I just needed a little energy refresher. I'm actually feeling much better now and looking to get all of my pages completed. I've started every challenge but two and they all need titles & embellishments. All I took with me was some paper packs and picts. :-)

Just got Maci to bed, been working on descaling the keurig, now need to reset it, not brewing the right cup side, had that happen before, but can't remember how to fix it, off to google then scrap!! Hubby should be getting back on an airplane in about an hour to come home, so will probably wait till he makes it home and scrap until then, maddy is watching toy story, so if there are any ground breaking updates for Superbowl let me know!

oh and I blame the desk on hubby, although I am sure it's my fault, but still it's easier to blame him and make him clean it up, I do it all the time, and then when he goes to clean up just makes it worse, so that's why I do better when he is actually gone, and not here all the time!!!
oops hope that didn't come out the wrong way, he's a pilot, and been on reserve, but the airplane is overstaffed, he has been home for a straight month, you get used to a guy being gone 3-4 days a week, then bam home all the time, it's great for the help, but it also gets a little crowded at times. Of course I will be pulling these words right back when he's gone for a month coming up!!!

I seriously had a headache all weekend in MI from the pressure system moving it. It's a little better now that I'm home but I just couldn't seem to get picts down on the page for the last challenge!
I sure hope you feel better Patti, I think this is the last challenge?
