We've all heard the expression "Chip off the Ol' Block." Think about in what ways you have been influenced by your parents. Are there certian characteristics you see in them that you see in yourself? Did you follow in their footsteps as far as a career is concerned?
My challenge to you is to scrapbook a page about your parents. Or, if you've already scrapbooked your parents, you can make the page about someone else who has influenced your life in a special way. The only requirement is that you use chipboard somewhere on your layout. You can choose to cover your chipboard with patterned paper, paint it with acrylic paint or craft ink, emboss it, cover it with rub-ons, or simply leave it plain. But show us how you are a "chip off the ol' block!"
1. ALL VSBN CREATIONS MUST BE UPLOADED BY 10:00 PM EST ON SUNDAY, SEPTEMEMBER 6TH.
2. You have 2 hours to complete the challenge.
3. Please remember to put in the correct keyword, AUG09VSBNN, when uploading your image. Copying and pasting the challenge keyword is recommended to avoid typos.
4. Give your creation an original title to prevent it from being deleted due to duplicate titles.
It is also highly recommended that you post a link to your creation in this chat thread to be sure you layout is seen.
Super idea. I had my photos all picked out for this and now... I forgot that I wanted to do a similar layout of my mom and I both being teachers lol perhaps I will do them both!!

Your page is awesome. I have picts here from DS Grad of my Parents!
Thanks Lela! I actually designed the page before I ever had the photos. Having a photographer DH helps! I got him to take the photos and told my parents what colours they had to wear for the shoot!

I have a hideous photo of me with my mom and dad, taken just before they got divorced - our only professional photo ever. I think I'll go ahead and tackle that one. But I'm going to sign off for tonight. See you on the flip side, girls!! Happy scrapping.

It's hard when the pictures are scarce for a layout....good for you for taking it on with photos that were hard to come by and like!!!

Yah - I've been trying to scrapbook with the thought of "What do I want to leave behind when I'm gone for others to remember me by" - so certain tribute pages need to be included.

I couldn't get away from the computer....lol, SIL brought me a photo to scan....she's onto start a fishing layout now!!!! I think that will be page 12 and 13....she's getting more independant though ;)

See, that's the kind of determination I need. I need to just go and get it done! But, I spend time drawing up sketches and then resizing photos in photoshop and putzin' around with whatever. I have so many unfinished layouts! I gotta just get 'em done!
