101 Days of Summer: Let's Enjoy A Fruity Drink (101DOSA)
In the summer of 1989, I was a bartender at Jack's Place in Avalon, NJ...definitely one of my FAVORITE summers! I usually worked Friday Happy Hour~it' was such a fun & exciting time! Everyone was coming directly to the beach from work; trading their 'corporate' attire for shorts & t-shirts; heels for sandals; skirts for sarongs...it was time to play & relax with friends & family; time to dance the night away to incredible music from the band; and, maybe even a romance or two was starting
Most of the drinks I made that summer had fun ingredients in them: orange juice, pineapple juice, kiwi, strawberry, lemons, limes, coconut, melon, and some other fun stuff! So, whether or not you indulge in s cocktail with spirits or not, summer would not be summer without a fruity drink with an umbrella!
My challenge to you is to create a fun, relaxing page using citrus colors...topped with an umbrella. You can take that litterally or use it as inspiration for some embellishment on your page.

Well tell her the challenge and then have her draw you pictures of the fruit mentioned but she has to do it quietly while momma gather supplies...when she's done give her a fruity treat

That's not toooo bad of an idea... I saw another website run challenges for kids along with the one's for moms and then take pics to share. We'll have to look into that for the future for those of us with littles running around

That's not toooo bad of an idea... I saw another website run challenges for kids along with the one's for moms and then take pics to share. We'll have to look into that for the future for those of us with littles running around

hmm cooperative is not the word I was thinking, more like kicking and screaming, and realizing mommy wasn't letting up!
She spent nearly 2 weeks at my parents recently, totally spoiled rotten, and slept with grandmama every night, good news is, she has actually slept in her own bed every night this week for the first time in a long time, no sneaking into our room at 1am or anything, been great, so trying to keep it going!!!

Cool...I have an entire citrus-inspired Club Scrap kit from a couple years ago (called Mosaic Twist) which will perfectly fit this challenge! The girls just left with the grandparents (the oldest in tears which makes me so sad) so I have the rest of the day to scrap!
Still no approval for the gallery. I'm keeping an eye out to link up when it's available.

oh sounds like a cool challenge! wish that I could really play but dh is serious about me not doing anything right now:( so here I lay on the couch...not sure what dinner will be...kinda wanting the frozen pizza out in the deep freeze in the pump house.:rolleyes:
his mom will probably call or stop by on her way home...which should be here in the next half hour or so.
I do still need to write the thank yous out. i might work on those tonight while you all scrap

That in itself would make my blood pressure go up...I just HAVE to have something to do. Can you do any digi pages? Oh well, rest up for soon you will have very little 'Me' time :-)

Girl, this is the time you hire someone to come clean your house no matter what! It's worth the money and if you don't have it, call your church, family, friends...they'll pitch in. Cleaning your house is not worth it at this stage of the game that's when you answer all those 'what can I do to help' comments ;-)

well MIL might have to help me do it next week some. she is off work now till August. and well I can't ask dh's sister to help because well...we aren't talking so...MIL it will be. although my bp has been pretty good today.

Thank you for all the wonderful comments and I TRULY appreciate all of your offers of help. This is a last minute put together but sometimes that's what makes it so fun! Now my eye's are tearing, my ankles swollen, and my tushy is aching...time for a dinner break! My DD's are fascinated by what I'm doing but the hunger is starting to make them grumpy ;-)
