Okay, I had gone to a department store and they were practically giving away large pallettes of sample eyeshadow. Some had a beautiful almost glitter effect like pearlex...anyway..I decide to use them as chalks and ..oh my goodness..they are beautiful!!!
So, dont throw your old eyeshadows away...they work like chalk. I now have a whole drawer full of beautiful colors!!!
Wow....that's so cool! And you can get these pretty cheap sometimes, as you've discovered! When you are finished,do you have to apply some type of sealer over the top of your chalked image?

Thanks!

Yes a chalk fixative works great over it. Back when I was in a TAC stamping group we used eyeshadow to shade some color on out cards and it did rub off. So I bought a can of the fixative at Michaels.
I LOVE using eyeshadow. Especially the shimmery kind like you have!
Of course I just bought TWO big things of pebbles Inc. chalks this week :(
mmm, regret not, young Jedi. I have every set of chalks that Pebbles makes, and they cannot be beat - you automatically have the darker and lighter shade right with each other, the light-colored pearlescent set matches up to the pastel set, and the applicators are fabulous. I don't mean to gush, but those are one purchase that I've never looked at and gone "now, why did I think I had to have these?"
Another nice thing about the eyeshadow, though - more possibilities of pearly earth-tones and neutrals.
that is such a great idea! I'm gonna have to try it! For those of you who may not have many colors of eyeshadow, I have a cheap suggestion: the day after christmas at walmart. They always have tons of those sets left, and they are usually 50% off, so you could get a whole bunch of colors for about $2! I know, I have done this several times! It's really fun to go to walmart's cosmetic section the morning after christmas! I plan it every year. You can even get the perfume and cologne sets 50% off!
Workable fixative is sold at michaels in the craft paint/spray paint aisle. It's by Krylon.
I use Aquanet hairspray the aerosol type. Works too. But it has to be aquanet and in the spray aerosol can.
Doesn't that smell? Does the smell go away? I can't imaging giving a card that smells like Aquanet. I thought I saw that last of that stuff during my "big hair" high school days! LOL!

ROTFLMBO!
I'm laffin', and concurring on that one. ;)

I found these at a department store going out of business here locally. I believe it was Dillards. Just ask at any cosmetic counter. The old ones are worthless to them when they get new color samplers.
If you know a Mary Kay consultant ask her for her old samples. We just had a complete change in our colour line. Now I know what to do with all of my out dated samples. Now where did I put them...
I tried this and it didn't want to stay on the paper. I did stamp with white on one card and then applied the shadow and it worked. Any ideas. Ive never played with chalks and knew I had a big thing of eyeshadow noone was using and tried it. Just wasnt happy with the results.
