Default WRMKSew Easy Stitch Piercer Tool

I was looking all over the place and then found this. https://www.scrapbook.com/store/wr-71053-0.html
Has anyone used it? Does it actually work?

I sort of remember something like this from a few years ago, but I can't recall who the manufacturer was.

Thanks!

This is the same thing from years ago. I was going to buy one but bought a sewing machine instead because I didn't want to hand stitch! If you decide to buy one, I would suggest getting all the different stitching designs because it will be hard to find them once it is obsolete. I thought it was obsolete since I haven't seen it in the stores anymore.

you're welcome. I don't mean to discourage you, but to be honest, I'm glad I never bought it because I'm sure it would be on a shelf on in the thrift store by now. Yet, I'm sure there are others who will say the opposite. So I guess I'm just saying think it through. I have so much stuff I've given away and I'm trying to put more thought into things before I buy.

Oh, I know exactly what you mean. I recently moved house and gave a lot of things to the thrift store.

If you can lay hands on an old (very, very old) pattern tracing tool, it does the same thing - makes evenly spaced holes. The newer ones pretty much just make "dents", rather than holes, and they are elongated, anyway. I have my grandmother's tool, and it's perfect.

Having said that, I will also say that I agree with Kathy - a better way to go is a sewing machine. If you want to stitch by hand it will still make evenly spaced holes, but you also have the option of sewing at the same time, and you can trace whatever pattern you want lightly in pencil and follow it when you sew. Lots of places that repair sewing machines also refurbish and re-sell machines and you can get them relatively cheaply - or on Craigslist or possibly even Freecycle...

I have it and it works very well, but it requires a combination of steady hand, the right surface under the piercer (a somewhat firm mat which was sold with many of these) and the right pressure.

I have to laugh: I bought a bunch of the heads, and then realized oh! Now I have to hand sew this complicated pattern LOL so I would only advise getting the simplest one if you're not into handstitching… I often just use it for the look of the pierced holes.

I have this tool with the straight line head it comes with plus the scallop & the zig zig heads.  In my opinion it does need the piercing mat sold separately to use with it.  I love the mat for any piercing, so will keep it.  However, I never reach for the tool, so would happily sell it & the heads to you for $5 plus shipping.

I bought it and like they say you do need the mat with it, you have to love hand stitching though, if you don't care for that then I would go with a machine, I don't use mine often
