Smile wood mounted vs. acrylic

Hi,
I have to admit that the majority of my scrapping stash is from SU. Part of me is very curious about the acrylic sets offered from CTMH. What is your preference, and why? Thanks so much!

I personally prefer wood mounted. I just feel like I have better control of the stamp when I'm using it. I might just be doing something wrong when I use the acrylic.

I like the wood mounted. They seem to stamp so clear. The dollar clear stamps I have ALOT of trouble with. I have some close to my heart sets and they arent too bad. I like the fact I can see easily to place them. I definetly have more wood mounted.

I prefer the IMAGE...I don't care how it comes...wood, unmounted, clear, whatever...they all work great with the right ink so I just buy based on my love of the actual image.

I have both and I totally agree with Cher. I like the image. I do like being able to position my stamps perfectly with CTMH clear blocks, both I also like the way wood feels. It's fun to play with both.

I'm with you on that. I do own quite a few CTMH sets, as well as a ridiculous amount of SU sets. I also have plenty of other wood mounted stamps, some unmounted stamps, and lots of clear stamps. CTMH makes good quality stamps. However, clear stamps are harder to use with markers (meaning coloring the image in with markers, huffing on it, and then stamping) and I've never been able to get a good result with clears and that technique.

I suggest you try them out and see what you think. You do stamp a bit differently with clear stamps (remember, they don't have cushion like the SU ones do), but you can get a really good impression with them. And, they're really easy to line up on your paper as well, you can see through the block to see where you're stamping!
