Default wizard vs cuttlebug-opinions please

I have to decide which embossing machine I want. I just bought several wizard dies and nestabilites.
I really like the ease of use of the new wizard. No sandwiching to make the dies work.

The cost seems to be then main difference because I prefer the features of the wizard.

I have never every used any diecut/embossing machine so it is all new to me.

I would appreciate some opinions pro and con for each from all you great MD members who have used one or the other or both.

Thanks in advance

I have one of the original Wizards and it is virtually indestructible!

I would get the Wizard, especially because you are using a lot of Spellbinders dies.

I agree with getting the Wizard. Since you mentioned Nestabilities and other Spellbinder's dies, it just makes sense to purchase the machine they were designed for.

If you want a machine that will last, the Wizard is the one to get. It's entirely made of metal which accounts for the difference in price, but that alone makes it worth it.

Yep, I bought a wizard and was going through the same dilemma as you. So glad I got the Wizard. The embossing is amazing! And it cuts so easily. You will love it!

So...would you wait until the new Wizard is available? I hear it is out but there have been a few problems. Or do you just purchase the older one?

I will get the raspberry colored one. (I think that is the new one)
I looked at their site and it appears to be on there.
The problem was with the mats not the actual machine but they were recalled.
I will contact them before ordering it to make sure it is the new one.

The demo lady said this weekend at CKC that it would be on the web site in a couple of weeks but the pic on the website I think is the new one

Has anyone tried the cuttlebug embossing folders with the wizard? Is there too much pressure on the folder that it tears the cardstock or damage the embossing folder? TIA!

The Cuttlebug folders work great in the Wizard! Because of the pressure of the machine, the embossing is terrific.

Well, I hate to be an odd woman out, but, I myself LOVE my cuttlebug. I love the versatility of it...the fact that the replacement plates are relatively inexpensive and it's ease of use. I won't be trading MINE in! :p

I just got a few CB folders to try and they require a little harder crank but the embossing is so detailed. Even my DH thought they were "cool" and he never says that about my card stuff!

I also have the cuttlebug, but hate having to add extra cardstock for my nesties. I'm thinking of getting a wizard and handing down my cuttlebug to my sis. So far the best price I've seen is at 7kids (pre-order price of $79.99)
