I couldn't even sell the Crafter's Companion at TWO Garage sale. I gave it to the Good Will. I simply do not have space for things I don't use. Just because I spent money for something that was a bad purchase doesn't mean I have to let it take up valuable storage space too.

I'm going to check out that Fiskars plates video, but I think the Fiskars plates are one of the worst products ever. Did Fiskars even test them?! One cracked the first time I attempted to use it.
I have a case of embossing powders and fun flock.. The stuff is just NOT my style and just knowing my style/the materials I lean towards, I will not use the stuff hardly at all in the future.
I have 50+ ribbons in little cropper hopper cases and I will most likely never use the ribbon again.. It's all different colours/patterned/skinny and I just don't like it any more.. That's a lot of $ down the tube..
I do not use my crop-a-dile a lot either, but when i need to punch a hole or set an eyelet, I use it, so I'm not getting rid of it! (remember the hammer and the setter?? That was LOUD!)
Cuttlebug alphabet set.. How much was that, $50 or $60?? I think I used it ONCE! I also have a bunch of CB dies that are kind of old/out-dated and those were a waste of money. I use my CB to emboss/nesties... that's it.
I also have a Bind-it-all and about 10 different colours/sizes of coils. That was a little excessive, but I find I have use for it every now and again so I keep it around...
I have a lot of other things that have gathered dust, but I am not much of a pack rat and I tend to get rid of things if I'm not using them so I am not currently overwhelmed by stuff I don't use..
Overwhelmed by stuff I DO use is a different story! ;)
I can't believe that you have two cricut machines and don't use them, I love my cricut expression, have you got sure cuts alot? If you haven't I would say I know where you are coming from as I wouldn't have bought one without scal as I couldnt afford all those carts.
Yep, I have one of those. I am planning on ordering some custom plates (eventually) so maybe I'll use it more when I have designs that I created myself.
Fiskars 4 in 1 Embossing Corner Punch - this thing was $14 at Michael's and I am so disappointed. The impression is so lite and the corner cut so small, it is barely discernible. I tried it on all weights of card stock - no success.
So, back I have to go. I just hate it when a product doesn't work and you end up spending more gas and time taking the thing back. I guess the only saving grace is that I didn't buy it online and thereby lose the shipping costs in the deal as well.
Anyone have any luck with this line of corner punches?
Well, this ain't my first rodeo...so most things that I don't need, want, or use, I've been fortunate enough to unload on eBay and actually make $$. I've made some epic purchasing mistakes and some smaller regrettable transactions, but what sticks in my mind before I knew the ropes was:
Getting in a bidding war with someone over SU! Snow Globe $80 and receiving a badly stained, severely undercut and poorly mounted set!
Cuttlebug....should have held out for the Big Shot that I now have.
ALL the SU! Classic Ink pads....like up to 72 colors and I mostly use Stazon Black!
Mine would be the flat plastic bow maker. I can't remember what it's called, but it gave me fits. Now I am going to buy a peg bow maker because it's easier to use for me.
I just use a fork from the cutlery drawer!! I did wonder about using my husband's cribbage board LOL
I bought the thing to help me tie bows and I hopeless with it. Have watched the youtube videos and have put my rubbish bows down to me being left handed (that or I'm totally useless)

Jumping into this thread late, but wanted to add that I, too, am sorry that I purchased the old style (red) Sizzix machine. I recently sold it on eBay, along with some never used dies for a fraction of what I paid for it.
Since getting back into card making, I've been yearning for a Big Shot. But I have to wonder if it, too, will be a heavy, bulky, money waster.
I have a Big Shot and I love it. But wether it would work for you or not? I guess it would depend on why you didn't like the old style machine.
If we knew that, then we could tell you how the Big Shot is better or the same.

I have 2 Cricuts, personal and expression. I almost never use them.
I wish I wouldn't have bought my expression.
Me too! Or the Gypsy I bought because the instructor at the class I took assured me it would make it easier to use the Expression. I love the idea of the Cricut but I waste way too much time and paper trying to figure out what size the cuts will actually be....

Agreed to check the other thread, but I could NOT do without my Big Shot. The old style machine wasn't nearly as good as this one. Mine sits out on the counter all the time and gets used constantly. I rarely do a card without using an EF, nestie or other die. I got one after realizing that a large number of the cards I saw in the gallery that I loved used it in some form.

Thanks, I'm going to start another thread so I don't hijack this one.
The Fastenator - bought several packs of staples dirt cheap but have better results poking holes with a piercing tool and bending the staple points by hand. I returned the Fastenator for a refund
My Cuttlebug alphabets - I have 5 or so of them. I hate how they warp no matter how you run them through the machine.
The WingDing Sizzix alphabet die I bought to use through my Cuttlebug - and doesn't cut properly.
RIBBON STORAGE...I think "Becca" was the person who first posted this, but I would LOVE to share it with you all. I did as she instructed and my life is sooooooooooo much easier now when it comes to ribbon use. The bag that I consolidated down to two drawers was HUGE and now it looks so pretty and the BEST thing is it is so easy to use.
I bought my mat board at Hobby Lobby when it was 50% off. The size is 32 X 40. I then had the frame department lady make 3 cuts (at 50 cents/cut) on the 40 inch side. That gave me four 10 inch strips of 32 inch long boards which I could use in my paper cutter at home. Be sure to reserve some of the board to make your dividing boards between the rows of ribbon. Just use any drawers you already have and measure the inside to know how long your dividers will need to be. Used little ponytail rubber bands. The most time spent will be winding your ribbon onto the little squares, but do it while you're "watching" TV or keep a bag of supplies in your car to work on while you wait for your kids/hubby/friends!
Feel free to contact me by PM if you have questions.
Fiskers 4 in 1 punch/embosser...just sold mine at a garage sale for $1. Could NOT get it to show up on any kind of paper either. What a waste of cash that was.
Sorry about the RIBBON STORAGE post on this thread but so many of you were regretting the purchase of the different storage "solutions." Would some kind soul recommend where I could post Becca's [I think it was her] wonderful idea for ribbon storage so that those that need it will see it? Many thanks. [Still new and still trying to figure my way around this amazing site.]
Me too!! I didn't buy mine from QVC, but it was not a good purchase for me .
I thought it would be great to make envelopes with it. I have made a grand total of 5 envelopes LOL And that is only because I needed square envelopes for some cards I made
That thing needs a new home
LOL.. I bought an enveloper at Archiver's last year for $5.00..the lady ringing me up said "good luck with that". I actually like it! There's a PDF on the Craftr's companion site on how to make almost any measurement envelope. My cards tends to be thick with embellishments so I need to make slightly larger envelopes for them. To each his own
The one item that I have that I have poured literally hundreds of dollars into is my Cricut. It is really difficult to use and I'm falling out of love with it really fast.

I love my bigshot, I've had it for a little over 12 months and use it often. For a few years I thought that I needed a Cricut or a Cricut Expressions but knowing my luck the jolly thing would die on me just outside of the warranty period. I decided to get the bigshot and it's the best thing I've bought, love the embossing folders, love the dies and love that there's nothing electronic to go wrong.
Yes, I too bought a Red Sizzix many years ago, then realised exactly how much it was going to cost if I wanted a good range of dies/ alpha's etc. I do still have it, and a few dies that I bought in various sales, but it does gather more dust than it does use. I also have a Quickutz Squeeze tool, a couple of alpha's for it, and a few dies- again it gathers more dust than use. I have to admit, I went digital then, with a Silhouette, mainly because I would never, ever need to buy an alpha die set , and could have any size I wanted. I also have a cuttlebug, and that really does everything else I need to do. I know if I went to a bigger machine, I would start buying bigger & bigger dies, and thats always going to be the case, isn't it ladies?
By the way, I just scrolled up and looked at the ribbon storage idea- that is absolutely brilliant! Thats going to be a project for me- probably around Christmas when we have a week or so off, but I will be cutting up my boards for a while before that!lol.
Oh goodness, what do I regret? Lots of rubber stamps that I was going to color in oh so yummy colors and then found out I have NO patience or talent for it. Thank God I didn't sink a ton of money into COPICs, too, although I was REALLY tempted.
A xyron that sits on my crafting table and has never ever been used.
Fiskars blue embossing plates. Stupid things. Tons of ribbon that is, apparently, not my thing. A gazillion eyelets and brads. Again, apparently not my thing. Poor paper choices. I think I'll try the gift wrap suggestion someone else made. I've also shredded pages and used them as decorative stuffing inside boxes, baskets and gift bags. How to stamp and scrapbook books. WHAT was I thinking?
We live in a rural area and a garage/yard sale would be a waste of time, so I've donated most of that stuff just to get rid of it.
Taking a heap of my questionable craft purchases to a friend's garage sale on the weekend. Have found some ugly paper and will finally get rid of my huge stash of Carl punches, a Fiskars Scrapboss that I had to have and heaps of cheap cardstock in vile colours. If it doesn't sell then it's all going to Vinnies.
Jeanen, I have absolutely NO talent for coloring with crayons, pencils or regular markers. But I have found that Copic markers makes me look like an artist -- at least to my family. Copics blending makes it easy to shade and give depth, so long as I follow the youtube tutorials.
