I am a newbie Copics person too, and this thread is awesome! I love the Suzanne Dean recommended starters! Thanks for that! I love Copics because the colors are so pretty, they blend so wonderfully, and the tips on the sketch are perfect for tiny places and the tips stay intact so well! Bazzill now has a wonderful white smooth cardstock that is great for Copics coloring. I am learning to blend and the Copics are a dream to use! I have a few Prisma markers too and they are also alcohol based. The tips come fine on one end and broad on the other. They are not bad to use and I have used a few along with my Copics because I am just starting my Copics collection, and some of the Prisma colors I have will fill the need of a blend I don't have yet in Copics. I like the Copics a little better because of the tips on the sketch markers. I also have some Bic Mark-its, and they blend okay by themselves. I haven't used those in combination with Copics though because I don't think the Bics are alcohol based. The Bics are fine for bright colors for quick projects, but I really prefer the Copics above all else.
I still like using my Prisma Pencils too and blending with Gamsol. The choices are awesome and I like deciding on what medium to use when I need to color. I have to tell you though, Copics are definitely in the lead when I choose a medium!

Here is a smal thread on the TRIART markers
Forums at Splitcoaststampers

I use Triarts instead of Copics as they are cheaper. They are just like Copics.
THey are alcohol based and are refillable. They have 3 nibs.

The refills are like $2.89 and so are the markers at CarpeDiem and they carry every color.
YOu also get FREE shipping if you order $25 in Triart products.

I have copics and Triarts and they can be used together and they are just as good as the copic. I love the colors and they blend easily.
