I will be watching this thread as I have the same question. Have never found one that is really solid white when it is done.

My current favorite is the pad from Papertrey Ink. It's pigment and the color is "fresh snow" (which is a fancy way of saying white). It's very thick and shows up well on colored paper.

I've tried lots of white pads, and this one is the best so far. Stampin' Up!s white craft pad is a close second.

I have one that works well on dark cardstock. I got it at Joanns and it wasn't expensive. It is called "Jo Ann Craft Essentials Pigment Ink Pad."

I use Papertrey Ink's Fresh Snow too! They also have New Canvas and Vintage Cream if you are looking for some off white or cream colors. Their website is:

Since it is pigment ink, will Papertrey dry without having to be imbossed? Is SU or CTMH pigment or dye? I'm trying to find an ink that will show up on colored card stock dry on card stock without having to be imbossed.

But does it dry on card stock without having to be embossed? I have several white pigment ink pads that show up on dark cardstock but they don't dry, they have to be embossed. Before I buy another one I want to be sure it dries on cardstock without embossings.

Another vote here for the SU white craft ink. I love it.

I have PTI Fresh Snow and I do not have to emboss it for it to dry. Now, because it is pigment, it does take a bit longer to dry, but once dry, no smearing. I let it air dry. I like this ink.

Question Stazon white ink

What about Stazon white? I've been wondering if it's worth getting, with having to re-ink it so often. Has anyone used it?

SU white does dry without having to be embossed, it takes about a minute to dry but it works really well on dark colored cardstock.

Thanks! I didn't realize it would dry that quickly without being embossed.

I have the Staz on white and I like it because I use it on all sorts of things and I know it will stay. I have only had to re-ink it once, so I don;t think about that part, but it is great for my acetate cards!

Stazon white is not good for dark cardstock. It looks a bit transparent on it. Great for acetate though!

I love the SU white. It looks great on all dark color cardstock and dries beautifully.

I think my SU White must have been bad, because it took FOREVER to dry. I recently changed to PIT's and it is SO much better, IMO. I now love using white again!! Still needs some dry time, but I get a crisper image and am overall happier.

Mine must be bad too, I can never get the ink to dry. I mean days.... to dry.

I am trying to find a strong white and quicker drying.

I went on the Stamp 'n Cruise last October. When we all started working on a dark paper with white ink project, the SU Craft ink was the only one that worked. We were all borrowing from "Tavia."

I came home from the cruise and immediately ordered white craft from my SU demo. Sure, it takes a while to dry. If I can't wait, then I use a heat gun.

I had a similar post with this same question, from what I can tell the only solution to the white ink that doesn't have to be embossed, (I think you might mean heat set) is white Stazon, it does work, it works well, and I haven't noticed needing to re-ink often...in fact only once since I bought it quite a few months ago.
So through my unofficial research White Stazon Opaque seems to be the answer.
