Have you tried baby oil? It works the same as Gamsol without the health or fire risks.

I'm in a tiny town in BC and I had a hard time finding it too. I went to our local art supply store and they had never heard of it. Then Some one on this wonderfull site told me that Gamsol was a brand name and it's actually Artists Grade Ordorless Mineral Spirits or Ordorless Mineral Oil. Most art supply stores carry it as it's used for cleaning paint brushes. If you still can't find it I'm sure that some one on here can give you the name of a website to order it on line.

I love Gamsol also, and my favorite place to purchase is Inky Antics, because of the awesome dispenser bottle it comes in. Good luck!

Maybe you can buy Odorless Mineral Spirits...that is what Gamsol is. Gamsol is a brand of artist grade Odorless Mineral Spirits (OMS). As long as its artist grade...at least thats what they tell me...LOL!

Hi Parrothead... I looked at their website and it shows Gamsol as "hazardous". Their shipping info says that there is a $20 extra charge per UPS for shipping flammable materials. Were you charged the excess shipping above the $12-14 shipping costs?

My house painter hubby informed me that Mineral spirits is just another name for paint thinner. So Odorless mineral spirits is the same as oderless paint thinner. The stuff at a art supply is a different grade however than at home supply store. You want the stuff at the art supply store. The brand I buy is Mona Lisa. Hope this Helps!!!!
