Default Where do you buy your Kraft paper?

I am looking for Kraft paper and wondering where you buy it and are they all the same, do you have a preference?

P.S I don't have a Hobby Lobby or Archivers nearby, just Michaels and Jos

Thanks!

I found a pack of 25 sheets of 12 x 12 Kraft paper at Michaels recently. I don't remember the brand, but it is nice quality and I like it.

Hands down my absolute favorite is Papertrey Inc. It is so yummy and thick! The price is great also... 12 sheets for $3, 24 sheets for $5 and 50 sheets for $9.

Michaels has some 12 x 12 sheets by the Paper Company in their scrapbooking section (where the cardstock is). I usually stock up when they are on sale at 3 or 4 for $1.

Hi......I've purchased the kraft paper (at least it's labeled that way) at Michaels. I find that even if I score it with my Scor-Pal, it cracks when folded and creased with a bone folder. I go with the grain of the paper, but still it happens. I like the color of that paper, but can't use it because of the cracking.

I purchased a package of kraft paper from Stampin' Up, but actually haven't even opened it yet. I'm anxious to see if it cracks when scored and creased.

I find it difficult to purchase paper over the internet. You can't see or feel it before you own it. If poor quality, it's nearly impossible to return it especially after it's been opened.

Maybe I should just use a paper bag!

I get mine from Papertrey now. The quality is great and if you buy the large pack it's a good price.

Either Papertrey Ink or Stampin' Up. I personally like the color of the Stampin' Up better...but both have great kraft paper!

I notice this thread is old and started in 2008. Since then, Michaels has started carrying a brand of cardstock in packs by Recollections. It comes in lots of colors, including kraft.

I really like the Recollections kraft cardstock. It is a great "kraft" color, nice weight, scores and folds nicely, and is smooth enough for stamping images.

You can get a pack of 50 sheets for $3.99, and they put it on sale sometimes, or you can use a coupon.

I get mine at Michael's. It is theri brand. It is in the area with all the other paper. I think there are 25 in a pack. I like to get it when on sale or with a coupon.

I'm confused and hope you guys can explain something to me. What's the difference when someone mentions Kraft paper as opposed to using the word cardstock? I was assuming Kraft was a brand name but apparently not. Thanks

Lorraine, here is a link to the Wiki page about real "kraft" paper, which I think actually means the kind of paper made with a particular process. Grocery bags are made with "kraft" paper, as is that brown wrapping paper that comes on big rolls.

Kraft paper - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

I think what most of us are talking about in this thread is cardstock that is a color that people refer to as "kraft". So lots of different companies make a cardstock that they call "kraft" paper.

According to the brand of paper, i.e. SU, Papertrey, Michaels Recollections, etc., the cardstock is slightly different in color and texture, but basically it is what we think of as a "kraft" colored paper that comes in sheets and is a cardstock weight.

Someone else may have a different idea, but that's how I understand it.

That's exactly how I feel. The PTI kraft is darker, although I like the weight of their paper better. The color of kraft (Crumb Cake now) is perfect for me.

I like Stampin Up's crumb cake, it's not too dark, or too light.
