Default What in the world am I doing wrong

I have always used the adhesive tape runner for my cards for the last 7 years or so. But my step-son and his wife gave me a whole case of Tombow Momo Aqua Liquid Glue. So I used a little last night on one of my cards. I put a thin bead around the edges and a thin bead in the same of a cross in the middle.

This morning, when the card was dry, it was bowed. Also I use heavy card stock (like always) and the card felt so much heavier than normal. Of course that could have been my imagination.

What am I doing wrong? Any advice or suggestions would be appreciated.

I never had luck with the mono glue. I had the same issues- no matter how little I used. I tried smearing with my fingertip, too, before sticking the paper down to help spread the glue. But nothing worked.

I do like to use it for embellishments and other non-paper items. Just not on paper.

Glad to know, I am not the only one!

Mmm.... I don't think I've had that problem, at least that I noticed. Maybe I don't put enough on to make it bow, just holds it together. Interesting - because I picked up some of that glue. It can go quickly when you are assembly line making cards.

If you are using the Mono Aqua glue (clear bottle with a blue cap) that is VERY different from the Mono liquid glue (in a green/white bottle). I bought some of the Mono Aqua by mistake and had the same results as you. The green/white bottle glue is much better and will not bow your card. They are about the same price but are very different. Needless to say, I now have 4 bottles of the Aqua glue sitting unused.

I have the same problem. I'm sure I'm using too much glue but I don't like the bowing or the "heaviness" of the paper once it dries.

That is good to know. But now I have a whole case setting unused. But one good thing, it was a gift and I didn't spend money on something I can't use!!LOL

Buy yourself a case of the Tombow Mono Multi in the green and white bottle. You will not be disappointed. No warping and no coming apart.

I agree, it's great stuff. I started out using it for my card layers and loved it. Then I got the ATG gun, and liked it even better for layers on cards.

I still love using the Mono Multi green and white for smaller pieces of cardstock where the gun would be awkward to use.

Definitely, the aqua is not the same. I tried it once years ago and never again.

I'm a mono & ATG fan. The one thing about the mono is the price because a little goes a long way. I teach classes and one of the hardest thing is to get people to understand they don't need a lot of the mono. I've also taught my classes to use their tweezers when using mono. Using tweezers really keeps the glue off your fingers and clean-up is easy.
