Question What portable photo printer do you suggest?

I am thinking about buying a portable photo printer - one that I can take to crops easily & that doesn't take up much space. I looked at the Canon Selphy & I noticed there was an HP one that comes in a little case with handles but really don't know if those or good or if there are others out there. Any help appreciated!

I love my HP Photosmart A636, it prints 4 X 6 and 8 X 10 from my computer, USB drive or my camera SD card. It has a few options on it - zoom/crop, frames, write on it, I know there are more, but I am at work so I cant̕ check. I do LOVE it and use it a lot, I try to get my pictures developed, but at home (when I want THAT 1) or at a crop it is super useful!
They just came out with the HP Photosmart A646 Compact Photo Printer
which now does bluetooth (photos from phones) and 4 X 12... with a super cute case that would fit the A636 or A646 - I bet you could find the A636 version for cheap somewhere!

Hope this helps!

Jaclyn,

I have the Canon Selphy, and I love it. You can print from your camera, computer, or from a memory card. The paper and ink are in a combined cartridge. So there is enough in to print the amount of pictures that are in the cartridge, no need to worry about running out of ink. But it doesn't print bigger than 4x6, and the cartridges can be difficult to find, I buy mine online.

If you have any additional concerns about the Canon or HP, go to Bestbuy.com and read the customer reviews, they helped me alot.

I hope this helps.

Regina does the Selphy come with paper/cartridge? What about the cord to plug it into your computer to print pictures that way?

Default HP photo printer

I have one of those a little older but still works good. Haven't used it in a year. ONly prints 4 x 6 photos, didn't have room for it so it is just sitting. Contact me if you are interested.

Jaclyn,
The Selphy does come with a picture/ink cartridge, but it's a trial one for only 5 pictures. It doesn't come the computer cord, something I didn't know, it uses a standard computer printer cord. Luckily I had a few around the house.

I would go with Epson or Hp. They both have turned out great on 4x6" for me.

They have the Selphy on Amazon for $59.95 which I think is really cheap. Do you suggest getting the ink cartridge online too or I think someone mentioned Best Buy on the comments on Amazon?? I think my friend has the epson above but it is expensive!
