There you have it--more info on cutters than anyone should need!
I have heard that you can cut a piece of a soda can and it will sharpen the old style arm cutters. I think one of the demonstrators on Craft TV Weekly said that on one of their shows. I have one and have yet to try it - but maybe this weekend!

Seriously, ladies, I love my Cutterpede. It has always performed for me. I have a scoring blade and a perforating one, too. You'll be glad you got one.Seriously, check it out.

Update: Since posting, I have called Fiskars about the problem with my trimmer (see OP). They sent replacement blades, which helped for a few cuts, but then I was seeing the same fuzzy edges. I called Fiskars this morning, and when they were told that I am typically cutting SU cardstock and 110 lb GP white cardstock, they said that that is the problem. My trimmer (the orange one with circles on it) is only made to cut 60-65 lb paper. She recommended their rotary cutter. Has anyone used this? What did you think? HTH someone!

I am curious as well about the Fiskars rotary cutters (portable or desktop). I think I like the desktop rotary cutter as you have an 8 inch surface. The portable one has a 4 inch surface.

It is between the Fiskars Desktop Rotary cutter or the Making Memories - both at M's.

I just have to put in another vote for the Cutterpede. I've owned several trimmers and this one beats them all hands down. It's not perfect, but pretty darn close.

I didnt like the MM trimmer. It had all the problems that others have stated. Although I did contact Cust. Serv. it took them 2.5 weeks to reply to my email. And after that they told be it would be 3+ weeks to get a replacement trimmer out to me- a huge hassle, so I just returned it to M's. I bought the large 8in Friskars rotary trimmer at first, but realized later that it did NOT have a extended/pull out ruler to measure paper larger then 8 inches. That bothered me alot. So I got the smaller version that has an extended ruler and its been great.

I'm not sure if I have already, so I'm putting in my vote for the Cutterpede. Perfect cuts every time...takes off slivers if I need it to...the scallop, deckle, and scoring blades are great...and it's pretty! (I'm a sucker for color ) Plus it cuts through SU cardstock without fraying...haven't had a frayed edge since I got it! It doesn't take up much room on my table or in my rolling cart...LOVE IT!
