MIL advised me to get Tacky Glue and apply it thinly with a toothpick. She thinks it lasts best and also works with the paper so you can bend it and the glue doesn't get too hard (something like that).
But if I apply it too thin, it dries before I get it to all the places I would need it for a layer of paper. If I apply it too thick, the paper warps. I don't really like to use it and would like something easier but just as good.
I second Tombow Mono multi...only needs a bit and sticks like crazy. No layer should ever come apart intact with that stuff. You do have to be quick with setting your layer before it's solidly dry though...

I agree with all the above...tombow! I got mine at www.allthatscraps.com- it's a little pricier but they have free shipping over 10 bucks, which...I don't think I've ever spent less than 10 bucks on stamping stuff!
I'm definitely in the minority but I can't stand mono multi. I do love just plain old double sided scotch tape. I have yet to have anything fall apart in my hands.
Tombow mono multi gets my vote too! AND.....it smells really good! Kind of citrusy And no... I am not a glue sniffer or huffer or whatever you want to call it! LOL! Just like the smell of it!
I guess I'm gonna have to check out that Tombo Mono Multi stuff! I've never used it. I was gonna vote for Martha Stewart Crafts Glue Stick, but I don't use actual glue very often. I love my double stick tape and tape runner.

ATG gun! With as many cards as I make there is NO WAY I could be dealing with liquid glue and a toothpick! I'm too much of a mess anyway!
OOOOHHH, yeah, I NEED one of those!! I went to a class at our LSS last Friday, and we had the Rusty Pickle guy (Lance--SUCH a fun class), AND we had Sharon Ann from Little Yellow Bicycle (she was great too!). Long story short, 20+ women did make & takes for both (it was a loooong night--Rusty Pickle kits are pretty labor intensive), and the gal sitting next to me had the ATG gun, and I wanted to just pluck that thing right out of her hands! I was SWEET! Quick, easy, no fuss, no muss, not heavy at all like you might think.
She bought hers at our LSS, but she's out of stock (AGAIN--they go fast!). Where can they be purchased onlline for a good price?
Thanks for any info,
Terri A.

I also just use double sided tape, and occasionally my Creative Memories tape runner. I've never heard of the Tombo, but I guess I'll have to see what it's all about.

Any advice? What do you use?
Thanks to a tip form another SCS member this is what I do but before her metal tip recommendation I used a thin quilting straight pin for application in place of your MIL's toothpick.
I attached photos of what the package of three metal tips and one plastic nozzle looks like. I found the package at Joanne's in the paint section.
I do have problems with my hands but this is easy to squeeze as along as the glue is fresh. Tacky glue tends to get thick as it ages.
Secure in the center of the card, I use cheap tape at the present time and then lift the edge and apply a couple thin lines along the edge.
It works like a charm and saves so much money.
But for those cards I recycle, I sure do like the tape that doesn't hold well when it comes to taking them apart! :-D
edited to say: I screwed this metal tip right on to the plastic tacky glue bottle tip, so far I've never used the plastic tip it that comes in the package.

Another vote for Tombow Mono Multi. Here's the trick, you need to use just the smallest dots of glue to hold. People who don't like it, at workshops and classes, are the ones who use too much. Small dots in the corners and a couple along a long edge are all you need. So it's economical too!

i use good old fashioned glue stick. Im good at it (i've learned how to be neat) and it seems to hold up fine! I just bought 18 sticks for $5.00! a lot of the other things i've tried are expensive or runny to me

You're not the only one! I use it often! I do have tape runners to stick together papers, too...but a good old-fashioned glue stick works best for me and isn't messy or runny. (re: the possibility of mess with glue sticks--I use either old catalogs or junk mail pages to get around the edges of my papers I'm gluing. Then after I'm done, I just fold it and stick the sticky parts together and put it in the recycle bin. :mrgreen
ATG gun all the way. I got one about a year ago and have never looked back. I occasionally use glue dots if I have an embellishment to adhere, but other than that, I don't use anything else! It's the best.
And, I've heard RAVE reviews of Zip Dry Paper Glue, and saw it in action this weekend at a big scrapbook event (225 participants BIG)--EVERYBODY, and I mean EVERYBODY had this glue, and they were MAD CRAZY over it!
After they showed me why they like it so much, I think I'm gonna hafta get me some. It's pretty cool!

Another vote for glue sticks! Cheap, easy, and really sticks!!!
Remember Hobby Lobby has all their adhesives 50% off this week...and THEY HAVE MONO MULTI!!!! Plus their regular price is only $2.99!!! I got 3 bottles for $1.49 each today. If there was more on the rack, I would have bought more!
