Default What can I do with large Fabriano Mediovalis notecards?

I purchased a set of large Fabriano Mediovalis notecards and envelopes because I thought that the smaller ones were just a bit too small for my stamping needs. Now that I have the large ones, I can't seem to use them. They measure approximately 4.5 * 6.75 inches (11.43 * 17.145 cm) which is too large for the stamp sets that I would like to watercolour. If I cut the notecards down to a more manageable size, I'll lose the lovely deckled edge. Does anyone have any suggestions? TIA.

I made this card with mine yesterday....

I have also used my card by tearing them and putting them on another card. If you score the card, and tear at the scoring line and not cut it, you will still keep that nice soft edge. I love my cards....Fabriano is the best ever!

Maybe you could play around with designs that have a lot of white space? Leave a wide border all the way around your card and then create a 'frame' of some sort and stamp your focal image in there. Your frame could be embossed, doodled, stitched, pierced, stamped - whatever suits your style.

Or divide your card into different areas, perhaps? Using it in landscape orientation, for example, you could use DP or a background stamp for something like a third of the width of the card and then use the remaining space for your stamped design and sentiment.

I'd probably take some scratch paper of those dimensions and play around with a few layout options to see what seemed to work with the stamps you'd like to use.

Have fun, whatever you come up with!

The Gallery is you best bet to see what others have been doing.

JulieHRR has some drop dead gorgeous cards made with FMs.

gallery search on Fabriano Mediovalis

Here is a link for Fabriano only. Seems to bring up more choices.
