Default We R Memory Keepers' Binding Machine--The Cinch

Have any of you seen the Cinch by We R Memory Keepers? I have the BIA, but this looks much more user-friendly. Take a look at this video: the Cinch.

What do you think?

It looks interesting. Any idea what the price will be? I've been thinking about the BIA, but this looks interesting, too.

It actually works the same way as my comb binding machine, but it punches the circular holes and can use the metal spiral binding.

Looks intresting. I like how you can only engage the hole punches you want to and when she made the mistake how easy was that to fix! My BIA may be needing a new friend! I mean I need them both don't I? They both punch different holes and have different features Yep NEED them both.....

It's pretty nifty how it allows you to make a specific hole, but it takes up far too much room for me. I think I'll stick to my BIA. It's a neat product, though!

I don't have a binding machine as yet and was thinking about the BIA, but I really like the Cinch now that I've seen it in action. Thinking it will be my next new tool. When will it be available to purchase, anyone know?

OUCH! I would love to have it but I'm wanting to get a Bog Shot first. Hopefully Hobby Lobby will have the Cinch soon and I can use a coupon

Default Saw it, loved it, ordered it!

We got to play with this machine at CHA, and we loved it! Tons of great features!

It was very easy to punch, and we all liked how the paper goes straight in parallel to the table instead of standing straight up. We loved the disengageable dies, which allow you to punch all 6 inches of holes or any combination of holes (for example punch two holes, leave space unpunched, punch two more -- can't do that with any other binding machine I know of!). You can get very creative with the wire binding because you completely control how many holes are punched.

Also loved that it punches up to 6 inches instead of only 3, like the BIA.

It uses the same 2:1 wires we already have -- yay!

Can't wait to get these!

I watched the video and it looks a lot easier than the bia, but were I have the most trouble with my BIA is when my inside pages are smaller than the cover. I screw it up all the time. Not quite sure how to do that.

Can the cinch easily punch inside pages that are smaller than the cover so they line up?

TIA,
Katie

I got my pink BIA for Christmas but haven't really had a chance to 'play' with it much. From watching some instructional tuts, there is a paper stop guide on one of the sides that have letters - 'C' for covers that should be slightly larger than the pages & 'D' for the pages so that they will tuck into the covers and not show.

Crafter 4 Life - The D inner pages only works if you use buy their pages or cut them exactly to the same size. I like making all kinds of different sizes.

I also have the old blue BIA which does not have that guide.

Thanks for trying to help!

Does anyone know where you can buy the cinch in Canada? I can only find websites from the US and the shipping always gets you when ordering from there....and often my packages take months to get here! Also, does anyone know when the machine actually comes out? All I can find is "summer 2010". I dont really want to pre-order if I dont know when it is going to come! We are hoping to move this summer and dont want it going to the wrong address!

It will be available in Canada, probably at my LSS's once it is out. I know Scrapbooks By Design in Toronto will have it, but they aren't doing pre-orders. Why don't you wait until you move before ordering it.

At CHA, we were told that the stores that ordered will get only four units at first, and they won't get the remainder of their order until later. I think the first manufacturing run must have been very conservative, and they were waiting to see the reaction before placing a huge order. Probably smart, in this economy -- but reaction was very positive, so I'm sure they've ordered a ton of them now!

Oh -- and there's no reason to hassle with making inside pages smaller than covers -- with the Cinch, pages and covers can be exactly the same size because they can be lined up so perfectly with the Cinch.

I have the old blue BIA and find it very confusing to use. I've only used it a couple of times because it takes too much time to figure it out. But the Cinch looks so user-friendly and very rugged. I can seem myself being more motivated to make books if I had this, so if I can use a coupon, I'll definitely buy one. Not sure about full price, though.

Hi, I'm new here. can you use the bia owires w/ the cinch? The cinch looks so easy compared to the bia. I have a blue bia and don't use it because it takes too long to figure out for each project; time consuming. the extra 25.00 for ease will be worth it. I also can't find it online for sale yet; iit's not on the wrmk site either.

So, if I can use my bia owires, I want a cinch! Anyone know if you can use the bia owires w/ the cinch? Thank you.

Default Same wires!

Yes, the Cinch punches holes in a 2:1 pitch (2 holes per inch), so the binding wires you used with your Bind-it-All will definitely work with the Cinch!

Default Awesome!

That's fantastic! That is great news. Thank you!

I've got a ton of bulk owires I bought in anticipation to use w/ the blue bia (we don't get along - it's not so friendly w/ me, the user), so they've just been taking up space in the closet for over a year or longer. Yippee! I'm going to get to use them, finally. Okay, eventually.

Oh, I just can't wait for the cinch to be available on-line (I do not live near any real scrapbook stores). I was thrilled to find one on-line retailer taking pre-orders, but they do not take PayPal, so then the disappointment set in ... I'll keep searching ...

I have a bia and love it. For those of you who find it a bit confusing, take a look at the bia videos on this site.

http://www.kits2remember.com/tipsandtricks.html
I took a class from her and I learned more in the first 15 minutes that I did in watching the disk that came with the bia and all the manuals.

Great Link! My blue bia did not arrive w/ a cd/dvd, but this link is truely more clear (for the pdf) than the quickie videos w/ visually poor imaging; this video was really good too. Nothing wrong w/ having 2 machines ... Thanks for passing on the link!

I have the pink bia and I've never used it. The cinch looks so much more user friendly. Cheapest price I've found online is $95 however the 40% Michael's/Hobby Lobby coupon sounds like the best solution.

Oh wow, that looks like a really nice toy. I'm already trying to think of ways to use it so I can justify buying it.

My daughter is starting her own daycare...maybe some alphabet books for the kids?

Default The Cinch on HSN

Just thought I'd share with all of you that HSN has the Cinch on their site for sale. It's 89.95 plus shipping. I ordered last night and with the shipping it came to 99.18. I've read other places that when the stores get them they will be a very limited supply. I really wanted one so I figured I'd bite the bullet and order without a coupon. Go to hsn.com and in the search box put "cinch". It will pop right up for you.

Just thought I'd share.
Have a great day!!

I ordered mine from HSN and if you use the coupon - - 313110 BEFORE THE END OF MARCH - you get free shipping on ALL CRAFT ITEMS!!! Of course, they offer FLEX PAY too - - so - - I am glad that I waited --- I had bid on a couple BIA on eBay, but - - it did look confusing! I am very excited about this - - the youtube display that I went to over the weekend was GREAT!!!

Of COURSE I NEEDED a new toy! Oh wait, they are tools, correct?? Tools!

Of course you needed a new toy.i mean tool. I bought it too and then told DH he got it for me for Mothers Day. Of course I had to also buy binding wire in various colors as well.

OK - now I am curious - where did you get the various binding wires? I saw the extra kit - but I don't need more chipboard - (do I?) I know that I will need more wire - - so - - spill - - where did you get it?

The Cinch holes are a 2:1 pitch with is 2 holes per inch. Any 2:1 pitch wire will work which includes the bind-it-all O-wire. I bought some bulk 2:1
wire from www.bindingmachine.com. There is currently a buy 1 get 1 free offer going on (you buy 1 and get the identical 1 for free). This wire is only 11in long which is fine for me since I dont plan on doing 12 books, but even if I did, Id just center it with on each end.. I also ordered some colored 12 wire in smaller quantities from www.binditall.com. There is a buy 1 get 1 free deal going on for some 2-pack O-wire (you buy 1 and they pick size and color of what you get for free).

I bought quite a bit of wire and will be set for a long while. The bulk of what I bought is 1 in black and white but I did get some smaller quantities of black, white, silver, antique silver and red (for my son) in smaller sizes.
