Question Vinyl CLing

Does the vinyl cling stay-put while stamping?
Does the stamp ever fall off the acrylic block while stamping?

I just started UM my stamps & have been using Aleene's TIOAO. I wanted the vinyl cling, but couldn't find it anywhere. Tonight I found recommendations for two on-line options.

Some of my vinyl cling eventually lost its clinginess. But I use Double-sided Scotch tape on my acrylic blocks most of the time anyway.

I started unmounting with vinyl cling and didn't find the cling to be strong enough. I'm ez mount only , now.

I've never tried vinyl cling - but I have always been so impressed by the strength of EZ Mount. It's like magic!

I've got some EZ Mount and wondered how you clean them?

I mean do you clean them with the SU! cleaner and scrubber? And does the back of the EZ Mount (part that attaches to the acrylic mount) get UNSTICKY? What do you do then?

I have had a number of the clear acrylic stamps lose the sticky. Don't know what to do.

Thanks for any help.

When they lose stickiness you, I think, are supposed to wash them with warm soapy water. Then of course, rinse and let dry. I believe this is supposed to revive the clinginess of acrylic or ez-mount. Someone correct me if I'm wrong please. I haven't had to use this method yet, as I don't have enough time to use my stamps a lot. :(

Default Cling Vinyl

I use cling vinyl from the fabric departments of JoAnns or WalMart. It's important to purchase the correct weight. You should buy the medium-heavy weight.... it's the kind sold by the yard that you might cover a picnic tablecloth with, or outdoor furniture. If you buy the heaviest weight, it's too heavy and will fall off your block; same with the light-weight - it's too flimsy to cling.

Eventually, with glitter, glue, ink, powder, hair and dust, the cling vinyl gets dirtied up. Take a drop of GooGone (GGP#16) and rub it over the cling vinyl, and on the acrylic block. Wipe off excess by dragging across scrap paper, and polish with a lint-free cloth.

The GooGone cleans and rehydrates both surfaces so the cling will stick again.
