Default used cricut cartridges

I've been seeing a lot of used cricut cartidges for sale lately and I was wondering if someone could help me with something. Does uploading/linking a cartidge to the gypsy make it not work or work differntly? Should I be concerned about those that are selling used cartidges? Thanks for your help

I don't know for sure but I think the cart still works you just can't load it on a Gypsy more than once.

The cartridge should work fine, but if it has been loaded on a Gypsy it may never be loaded on another Gypsy. If there is a Gypsy in your future, make sure to purchase used cartridges only if you are 100% sure they have not already been linked to a Gypsy. Please remember too (especially as time passes) that the seller may not be the original owner. A seller could state that they did not link the cartridge to a Gypsy, but who knows what the original owner did. KWIM? I hope this is helpful.

Good point Anita about it may not be the original owner and someone selling it for the second time.

Gypsy suggests that you do not get rid of cartridges that have been linked....if something happens to your Gypsy they will replace but you will loose your cartridges and you have to relink them. And they will work on the replaced Gypsy.

Just make sure that you ask the seller if the cartridge has been linked to a Gypsy. Selling a cartridge that has been linked to a Gypsy is like making a copy of a DVD or CD and then selling the original. (Illegal.)

Personally, I would not purchase a used cartridge. The seller can tell you anything, but that doesn't mean they are telling you the truth. I wouldn't trust it.
